Christmas time, a time for get togethers, a time to remember the birth of Jesus and a time for friends and family. This holiday season we are looking for "Carolers", Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church groups, school groups, to come visit our residents or even join in games with them. Congratulations to our September Employee Spotlight of the Month, Brenda Manns!

Brenda is a nurse and has worked off and on at George Ade for twenty years. Brenda has two children and four grandchildren and is engaged to her fiancé, Brian. They have been together for ten years. Brendas favorite food is ribeye steak and loves sweet tea and her favorite restaurant is Texas Roadhouse. Brenda loves spending time with her family and friends, walking, watching the animals at her feeders, sitting around a nice bonfire and taking country cruises. On a bad day, Brenda’s family and dogs cheer her up, as well as being outside talking with friends. Within the past two years, Brenda went through a terrifying journey of battling cancer. After a very long hospital stay and recovery, Brenda is back at George Ade! Her biggest fear is leaving this Earth before she is ready and losing the people she loves. She loves Nursing Home Week and dressing up for Halloween to make the residents smile and interacting with them. Fighting cancer and completing nursing school as a single mother of two are her biggest accomplishments. Brenda is a caring, compassionate person who treats both residents and staff with love and is always smiling and talking to everyone. She is strong willed, and a courageous woman. The best advice she has ever received is that what other people think of you is none of your business. Thank you for everything that you do here at George Ade, Brenda!

Congratulations to our August Employee Spotlight of the month.

Kim works in the front office at George Ade. She has been at George Ade for 15 years this November. She also worked in the Dietary and Activities department for a short time span. Kim has recently gotten engaged, to a man that has been her friend for almost 15 years. Kim has three biological children, Dakota, Nathan, Kaylee and one stepson Darrell. She has 7 biological grandchildren with another granddaughter to arrive in October/November, and 5 step grandchildren. She has a cat named Oreo and a bearded dragon named Nora. Kim's favorite place to eat is Texas Roadhouse, especially a steak with baked potato. Her favorite food is pizza.
Her greatest accomplishment has been becoming a mother and getting her job at George Ade! Her favorite hobbies are reading and crocheting. Her biggest fear is losing her loved ones. What cheers Kim up is helping someone else in need when she can The courageous thing she has ever done was learning to love oneself and to know her own self-worth to move on to better things.
