She came in for back pain.
But her back wasn’t the whole story.

I didn’t set out to specialize in dancers… it kind of found me 😅

I started with gymnasts because I was one. That world forces you to understand the details… how much mobility is actually useful, how much strength is required to control it, and how deep rehab has to go to match the skill level.

Then one gymnastics parent told a dance mom… and the dance world did what it does. 🤝

They just needed a provider who understood. Took the time to not just “clear” for return before they could even do a split again.

Now we have a team of PTs who actually understand dance — the demands, the expectations, the standard.

Because here’s the truth:
Dance rehab isn’t “rest and hope.”

TMJ pain (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) often shows up as:

Hot take 🔥
Your PT shouldn’t be trying to discharge you the second your pain is gone 🫣🚪

Real story: when I worked in a hospital system, we were graded on how FAST we could get patients out.
4–6 visits = “excellent.”

Not:
Did they actually get stronger?
Did we fix the root cause?
Did we prevent them from ending up right back here in 3–6 months?

Nope. Just… pain gone? Cool. See ya 👋

And we wonder why healthcare is so reactive… and so expensive.

We’ll take our car in for maintenance without thinking twice.
But our bodies?
We wait until something breaks.

Make it make sense. 🤯
