Hello there Mamas to be! Updates for the Spring Ball & Breathe series
Based off demand and feedback we are offering classes one Monday a month through June with options to sign up individually or for all 4 fe please sign up through movetoglowct.com or DM!
if Classes meet at Well Adjusted LLC in Brookfield. Each class will offer something different each time and follow up with resources will be provided if you have to miss one so it is catered to your flexibility.
* About: birthing ball basics class, suitable for all trimesters, uses stability balls to prepare the body for labor by enhancing mobility, reducing pregnancy aches, and encouraging optimal fetal positioning. These classes teach exercises like pelvic tilts, hip circles, and stretches to strengthen the core, open the pelvis, and aid in pain relief during labor. Gentle yoga, wellness tips, and breathing exercises will also be featured in the class.
Please bring a mat. No need to bring a ball.

Well looks like to groundhog saw its shadow ! 👤
This has been a tough winter so far and with the cold temperatures, many are not going outside and getting winter’s fresh air.
Winter doesn’t mean hiding from the sun 👀
Getting natural sunlight—even on cold days—can seriously support your health.

Pro tip: Step outside for 10–20 minutes mid-day, stand tall, breathe deep, and let your body reset 🌿 Even though the sun doesn’t seem that strong, be mindful to take precautions to avoid skin damage. Bundle up and be cautious of the temperature and how much time outside especially with younger kids and elderly.

We talk a lot about the aches and pains that happen during pregnancy. But aches and pains happen postpartum and at that point we tend to ignore us and focus on baby. Whether you are breast-feeding 🤱 or bottle feeding 🍼ergonomics is super important for you and the baby.

Some tips to to help prevent the aches and pains associated with breast-feeding include

-keep your shoulders relaxed
-use a chair with back support
-use pillows to support your arms and bring the baby to you
-switch up different holding positions
-Avoid leaning to one side
-avoid looking down for too long
-lean back
-stretch after

If there are any aches and pains or concerns with feedings, please reach out to our office. And remember mamas (dads as well who do feedings), you’re doing amazing!

Have someone take a picture of you standing, sitting on the couch, at the kitchen table, on your phone, desk etc. Take a moment and look at your kids? Is the back straight and shoulder down and back? Is the head pushed forward and up looking at a computer/TV or down with the ipad?

Overtime what do you think that will do to your spine? How about your kids?? Poor posture can contribute to muscle weaknesses and becoming too tight. This can lead to headaches, back/neck pain, digestive issues, breathing problems, wear and tear on the spine, other health concerns and more!

Chiropractic can be a great tool to get the body upright to help address muscle imbalances and work on posture.

Our prenatal and postpartum group started today!

This group is great for women is are pregnant and those that are in the first year of their 4th trimester. We will meet everyday Wednesday 10:45am-12pm.

We will have different guest speakers as well as the casual laughs and conversations for those in a similar stage.

🎒 Back to school which means the new backpack. Kids love picking out their own backpack, but it’s important as parents and caregivers to keep in mind if that’s the best size for their body . As a chiropractor, I see many kids with back, neck, shoulder pain, headaches, poor posture and more that can be linked to their heavy backpacks. With a new school year starting, let’s talk about backpack ergonomics and safety!

Here are a few simple tips to help protect your child’s growing spine:

🎒Check the Weight. A general rule of thumb is that a backpack should weigh no more than 10-15% of your child’s body weight.

🎒Wear It properly . Always use both padded and wide shoulder straps! Wearing a backpack over one shoulder shifts the weight and can cause muscle strain and posture problems. Tighten the straps so the backpack sits snugly against the middle of the back, not hanging low on the buttocks.

🎒Pack Smart. Place the heaviest items (like textbooks) closest to your child’s back. Use all of the compartments to distribute the weight evenly. For younger student, ask the teacher and district if they really need to bring their school tablets home everyday..plus less screen time!

🎒Choose the Right Backpack. Look for a backpack that is the right size for your child—not too big and hanging down low

If your child is complaining of back or neck pain, leaning forward to carry their backpack, headaches it’s a sign that something is wrong. Don’t ignore these symptoms!

The Goal of this workshop is to give the mother and partner a sense of confidence and knowledge as they approach birth.

Workshop topics:
-Prenatal yoga class
-Learn stages of labor and the role of hormones during labor
-Comfort measures for labor (birthing positions, coping tools for pain, this is where the birth partner will learn a lot)
-Hypnobirthing meditation practice with essential oils
