Eating Disorder Awareness Week
This week is a powerful reminder that eating disorders do not discriminate — and they do not have one “look.”
Eating disorders affect 30 million Americans across all ages, body sizes, races, genders, and backgrounds. Yet too often, individuals struggling go unseen or unsupported due to stigma, misinformation, stereotypes, and barriers to care.
The theme Every BODY Belongs calls us to:
✨ Challenge harmful assumptions about who “looks” like they have an eating disorder
✨ Reduce stigma through education and compassionate language
✨ Advocate for inclusive, weight-neutral, accessible care
✨ Ensure all bodies are treated with dignity and respect
At Nurtured Roots Counseling, we believe awareness is not just about information — it’s about action. The more we learn, speak up, and create safe spaces, the more we move toward earlier intervention, better outcomes, and true belonging.
This week, we invite you to join us in spreading awareness, sharing accurate information, and helping ensure that every body feels seen, supported, and valued.
