Randy "Cuddles" Elesie Hailstock

Randy "Cuddles" Elesie Hailstock, 67, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2026, after sustained injuries of being struck by a vehicle.

Randy was born on June 13, 1958, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, to Arverdison Hailstock Sr. and Sara (Ho**er) Hailstock. He was a graduate of Farrell High School and later attended Pittsburgh Beauty/Barber School, where he developed the skills for a career he truly loved. A barber by trade, Randy was known for his gift of conversation just as much as his talent behind the chair.

He was truly the life of the party. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he never missed an opportunity to show his team pride. He loved telling corny jokes—the kind you laughed at simply because they were so corny—and he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. And, if you asked him, he would proudly tell you he was a 3rd-degree black belt in Kung Fu (or at least that’s how he told it, lol). Above all, Randy cherished spending time with his daughters, Shawndell and Shanwté (He never called them by their first names), and with his family. His love for them was evident in everything he did.

Randy is survived by his daughters, Tamika Pinkins (fiancée John McLean) of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and Janilla Lincoln (Johnta) of Youngstown, Ohio; stepdaughters, Rosalind Hornbuckle, Arlette Wilson (Norman), and Leslie Somerset-Pope; brothers, Arverdison Hailstock Jr. (Stephanie) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Stanley Hailstock (Michele) of Woodruff, South Carolina, Shawn Hailstock of Farrell, and Donald Campbell (Lee) of Gary, Indiana; sisters, Carolyn Hailstock (Pat) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Felicia Hailstock of Milwaukee, and Traci Hailstock-Austin of Wheeling, West Virginia. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, LaRail White, De’Andrea (Deuce) Pinkins, Janazia Womack, Ervin (Tre) May, Wuan Oliver, Dwan Rogers, Jordyne Scott, Jazmyne Scott, Scottie Hornbuckle Jr., Daijah Rogers, Dailon Rogers, Lyriq Turner, Symone Somerset, Alonzo Scott Jr., and Jordan Wilson; great-grandchildren, A’Shawn Smith and Ra’Niya Rice-Pinkins. Randy also leaves behind special friends, Patricia Griffin, Rosa "Mama" Hornbuckle, Barry Holloway, LaVern Johnson, and Bill Dungee Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dr. Lorraine Smoot-Hailstock; paternal grandparents, Rev. Elesie Hailstock and Clara Hailstock; maternal grandparents, Plummer and Sally Henry; brothers Ronald Hailstock and Samuel (Sam) Hailstock; sister, Sandy Hailstock; and step-son, Scottie Hornbuckle Sr.

Randy’s laughter, stories, and larger-than-life personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Monday, January 26, 2026, a Celebration of Life Service, will begin at 11:00 AM, where family and friends may pay their respects from 10:30 – 11:00 AM, at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Rd., Farrell. Officiated by Rev. T. James Harrison, and Eulogist, Rev. Walter Gillespie.

William "Bill" Warren Cook

William "Bill" Warren Cook, of Brookfield, Ohio, entered eternal peace on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at 63.

Bill was born on July 24, 1962, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Warren William Cook and Helen (Tatusko) Cook.

He was a 1980 graduate of Hubbard High School and continued his education at ETI in Niles, Ohio.

For many years, Bill worked as a skilled HVAC technician, a trade he learned from his father and took great pride in.

He was a member of the American Carpo-Russian Club of Sharon and the National Rifle Association.

Bill was many things. He was an avid reader—arguably Stephen King’s biggest fan—and he passed his love of books on to his daughter, inspiring her passion for storytelling and writing. He enjoyed target shooting. He was also a musician, playing bass guitar and performing throughout the area alongside many local musicians over the years.

Above all, Bill was known for his carefree spirit, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. A natural jokester, he had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, no matter how bad their day had been. He was the master of nicknames—so much so that many friends are still known by the names he gave them. In recent days, stories shared by friends and family have painted a vivid picture of Bill: memories filled with music, laughter, cheering on the Cleveland Browns, and moments that perfectly captured his one-of-a-kind personality.

Bill was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Cook, of Hubbard, Ohio; his wife of 36 years, Mary Kay (Weimer) Cook, whom he married on May 6, 1989; his daughter, Stephanie Botticelli (Brian) of Hubbard; and his brother, John Cook (Laurie) of Seville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren William Cook.

A time of gathering in Bill’s honor will be held from 4-7 PM Friday, January 23, 2026, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403, where a prayer service will conclude the evening.

He was 84 years old. He was one day shy of 85th birthday. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and neighbor to many.

Together they raised 3 daughters: Jodi, Sheila, and Mindy.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed recreation in any season. As a young man in the warmer months, he enjoyed fast, antique cars, and drag racing with friends, fishing, and canoeing in local waterways. He took pride in his garden, and upkeeping the farm with his family. In the fall months, he participated in archery and gun season, taking his beloved dogs out to hunt for raccoons. He also enjoyed snowmobiling with friends and family in the winter. Joe could always be found in his garage after work tinkering on a project for the farm or for a friend. Another great perspective…

As you continue on your grief journey, remember that healing is not a linear process but a journey filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, and moments of light and darkness. Navigating through grief requires patience, resilience, and a willingness to embrace the fullness of your experience.

Honoring Your Emotions: Allow yourself to honor and acknowledge the full spectrum of your emotions, whether they are feelings of sadness, anger, joy, or gratitude. Embrace the ups and downs of grief with compassion and understanding, knowing that each emotion has its place in the healing process.

Finding Moments of Light: Seek out moments of light and beauty amidst the darkness of grief, whether it's a smile from a friend, a moment of connection with a loved one, or a simple act of kindness from a stranger. Allow yourself to savor these moments of grace and find solace in their warmth.

Practicing Self-Care: Prioritize self-care practices that nourish your mind, body, and spirit and promote emotional well-being and resilience. Engage in activities that bring you comfort, joy, and solace, and allow yourself to rest, recharge, and replenish your energy as needed.

Reflection Moment: Reflect on the ways in which you can find balance amidst the ups and downs of grief and the impact it has on your healing journey. How does embracing the fullness of your experience help you navigate through difficult emotions and experiences? Consider journaling about your experiences and insights as you continue to find balance in your grief journey.
Remember, healing is not about reaching a destination but about embracing the journey with courage, resilience, and compassion. Embrace the ups and downs of grief as part of the natural ebb and flow of life, knowing that each step forward brings you closer to healing and wholeness.

Wishing you moments of peace and balance.
