Fresh off a competition, back to training yesterday, just started with some light power sn**ches and I tore my hand🤬🤬 Fortunately I have in the office and can do light therapy as needed to speed up the healing💪 It’s been a long time since I’ve ripped a callus, but I can tell you the best way to return to training is trimming the piece that’s ripped, red light therapy, wrapping with and getting back on the bar 💪👍👊

Front squat at 165kg(365lb) for a PR; wasn’t feeling good in the earlier sets so this actually was a nice surprise; 3 more weeks of training until comp.

Power sn**ch at 97kg(215lb); super happy with this lift for several reasons: first, it is probably my worst lift and I’ve never been good at them, second, it’s 2kg OVER my opener at my last meet in October, third, I’m at 89kg bdywt. and maintaining strength and power, forth, I think it ties an all time PR that was done in my late 30’s. It’s great news for my full sn**ch as well because it has always been a great indicator lift for me, in other words, if my powers go up, I already know my fulls will be up👍💪👊🔥

Tapped out this complex of sn**ch deadlift+sn**ch pull+power sn**ch+sn**ch; powers are my weakest lifts especially the older I get so I will change my sn**ch movement next week or maybe deload this complex and do 5 sets or something; been feeling off since meet in October so glad to be feeling like myself again 💪👍👊

Pulling complex today; clean deadlift+clean pull+power clean+clean at 120kg(265lb) no belt; the 2 pulls before the power get you a little bit; the power clean almost got away from me; left SI joint much better, still some soreness but it’s at a level that you just work through it

Pause front squat 143kg(315lb) no belt; can’t remember if this is a PR or not but it was a max effort rep for today at least ✅💪

115lb Weighted Dip; trying to catch 💪haven’t went heavy on dips in forever but recently added them in; using weighted belt which I also started using on weighted pull ups; makes the best stuff which is virtually indestructible; check them out if you need accessories

No belt clean PR 143kg(315lb) I haven’t touched this much weight on a clean in over a year and forgot how much a heavy clean just crushes your soul. I was honestly scared of trying this one but I’m glad I forced myself; I’ve always said that if the weights don’t give you a little anxiety or scare you a little, you’re really not training as hard as you should be; I myself have been screwing around with lighter weights doing clean complexes and while I go heavy on them, eventually you have to test the main movements to see where you’re at 💪👍👊🔥

Straight arm DB row; idea is to keep the arm almost straight and get your elbow back behind your hip on the same side; you’re not going to use much weight on these just a light DB, the focus should be on a hard contraction of your lat; I do sets of 8-15 on these; throw them in at the end of your back workout 💪👍👊

80% this week; going to post some accessory work that I like this week; first up are overhead face pulls; done as sets of 15-20; different than a face pull and I use the Spud Strap because I can get crazy range of motion, some wrist traction and relief from tennis elbow while pulling; you can essentially keep from gripping as opposed to the rope which is a shorter range and is way too grippy; traps and rhomboids on 🔥🔥🔥

Shorted my sleep last night but still mentally felt like training; dit two sets then decided to shut it down; luckily there’s a secret place outside so I just went out there and did about 40 minutes of lighter sled dragging; now I feel good that I still did something and not annoyed that I got crushed by weights. A bad day of weightlifting (missing lighter sn**ches, getting crushed by a squat weight that I always hit, etc.) can sometimes put me in a worse mood than if I didn’t go at all. Now I feel great, and will hit it tomorrow in a hopefully more rested state 💪💪👊

Welcome to my page

Hey everyone! I created this page to post about weightlifting, fitness, nutrition, wellness, etc. It’s different than my regular facebook or facebook business page in that I can elaborate more when I have opinions and ideas about things, plus I don’t want to drive everyone else nuts with weightlifting videos, pictures, talk, etc. Thanks for giving it a look and feel free to invite anyone that may be interested!
