Happy Good Friday! If you all didn’t see my post from yesterday, I made a post about grief, sharing quotes from the book “A Chronicle of Grief: Finding Life After Traumatic Loss” by Mel Lawrenz (). Today I’m sharing another one, tying it into Christ’s loving sacrifice for our pain, sorrow, grief, and sin. We are encouraged to share in the suffering of those who grieve out of love and support for them. Christ gives us the ultimate example of this compassion by doing more than just sharing in our suffering but suffering in our place and giving up his life.

It’s just sad. Be there for the men in your life. They tend to keep things close to their chest at times, making it hard to know what’s going on. But just show up for them, love them, and hopefully you can be there when they need you most.

Enjoy the beautiful day today, Wisconsin! If you haven’t gotten to experience the beauty of God’s creation being cooped up most of this winter, today is a great day to do it! It’s good for your body, mind, and soul! Oh and Happy Valentine’s Day! If you don’t feel loved, know that God already loves you more than anyone possibly could! So if a significant other isn’t in the cards for you today, remember God’s love for you today and always as it never changes! Have a great day! Dave Scharf, a professor of theology at Martin Luther College, will guide the group through the story of Gideon, which illustrates what a true servant of Christ looks like. Bottom line: God’s power is made perfect in the weaknesses of his people.

NEW: James Place Northside:
Elmbrook has long had ties to the north side of Milwaukee and has partnered with Greater Life Community Center over the past few years to provide behavioral health services at James Place. Now, we are looking to expand this location and need a small team of volunteers to launch a new part of James Place. Volunteers could expect to focus on welcoming, praying, connecting clients to local resources, and tutoring students. If you are interested in a one-day-per-week commitment after work hours at James Place Northside, please contact James Place Director Jake Leigh. (jeligh@elmbrook.org)
