Trauma-informed care has become a phrase we use often.

But here’s the honest question:

Are we truly equipped to translate that into action in classrooms, therapy rooms, and agencies?

Compassion is not passive.
It requires strategy.
It requires shared language.
It requires skill.

That’s why this year’s conference is focused on Compassion in Action.

This is for professionals who work with children impacted by trauma and want practical, applicable strategies - not just inspiration.

✨ It’s Official. And I’m really excited to share this with you. ✨

The Children’s Mental Health Conference is back — and we are officially approved for 6 hours of NBCC and Social Work Continuing Education credits.

Let’s be honest.

Finding quality trainings that are practical, trauma-informed, and actually helpful in the real world… isn’t always easy.

This conference isn’t just about getting your hours.

It’s about walking into a room with other clinicians, educators, and agency professionals who care deeply about children impacted by trauma — and walking out with tools you can use immediately.

This year’s focus is on compassionate action — practical, trauma-informed strategies that help you respond to big behaviors with clarity, confidence, and connection.

You’ll leave with:
✔ Practical tools for managing meltdown behaviors
✔ A deeper understanding of trauma-informed responses
✔ Strategies you can implement right away
✔ 6 CE hours (NBCC & Social Work approved)
✔ And connection with professionals who understand the work you carry

Even as a therapist, I know how easy it is to feel isolated in this work.

This space is intentional.
It’s energizing.
It’s grounding.

If you’ve been looking for training that feels both meaningful and practical — this is for you.

Registration is open - https://bit.ly/cmhc2026

Can't wait to see you there! 💛

We are still celebrating Play Therapy Awareness Week...

Did you know that playing games with your child is one of the best ways to strengthen your relationship?

To celebrate Play Therapy Awareness Week, we are sharing Day 4 of our series: 3 Simple Card Games to Add Playfulness.

In our video today, I will walk you through games that provide a safe space to practice "taking turns" and dealing with big feelings when things don't go their way.

Whether you have 15 minutes for a quick round of War or want to get strategic with Pity Pat, these games are designed to bring you closer together.

The video is live on Youtube right now ----> https://youtu.be/o2Vn8xIX6yc.

Remember I told y'all we were celebrating International Play Therapy Week?

I use play therapy in my work daily but honestly learning play therapy as a modality completely changed the way I approached behavior, behavior modification, and the work I do with children.

It also helped me to interact with children in my life differently too!

At 11 am CST, my Youtube series will continue with Day 3: 3 Social Skills Kids Learn Through Play premiers: https://youtu.be/Y1SYsHCxD40

Let's play and find ways to add playfulness to our daily lives - especially with our children.

P.S, - If you missed Day 1 and Day 2, find them over on YT as well.

P.S.S. - Don't forget to share with someone who can add a little more playfulness to their parenting.

🎨I choose play therapy because it helps children heal without having to speak the words!

It’s International Play Therapy Week, and we’re celebrating in a fun, meaningful way over here at the practice.

Today became my 5-day video series premiere on YouTube, with a new video each day at 11:00 AM CST 🎥✨

Each video is short (less than 5 minutes), practical, and rooted in what we know about children, connection, and development.

Today’s video: The Benefits of Play on Child Development
We’re talking about why play isn’t “extra” — it’s essential. Play supports emotional regulation, problem-solving, connection, and healing in ways nothing else can.

Watch today’s premiere here:

Use this for yourself, for your child, or share it with a parent who could use a little more playfulness (and a little less pressure) in their day. 💞

Goal-setting feels different when you’re not alone.

What if 2026 started with real support, not just resolutions? Picture this: two hands, one notebook, honest conversations about what matters most.

This year, we’re meeting with accountability partners who get it. The overwhelm, the hope, the need for practical steps.

You don’t have to figure it out solo.

Today is a beautiful reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be powerful.
A gentle word. A listening ear. A moment of grace — even for yourself.

In a world that moves fast, offering kindness can slow the noise and open the door to connection.

That includes being kind to your own heart when life feels heavy.
Therapy can be one of the kindest gifts you give yourself — space to rest, reflect, and grow.

Call us today to schedule an individual or family session. We have clinicians ready to walk beside you on your journey.

Today we honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

But we also recognize that service doesn’t always end when the uniform comes off.
Sometimes the battle continues quietly — in the memories, the emotions, and the transitions that come after.

If you are a veteran, know that healing is not weakness. Seeking support is strength.
Our clinicians are here to provide a safe, confidential space to process, heal, and rebuild.

Call us today to schedule an individual or family session. We have clinicians waiting to serve you — just as you’ve served us.

If you were adopted, you may notice the journey changes as you grow — questions resurface, identity shifts, and emotions evolve.

It’s okay to revisit your story with new eyes and deeper compassion. Therapy can help you explore your past while grounding you in peace for the present.

Call today to schedule your individual session you deserve the space to process, too.

Just like a good cappuccino, life is about finding the right balance: a little strong, a little sweet, and always best when it’s warm and comforting.

If your “cup” has been feeling empty lately—emotionally, mentally, or spiritually—it might be time to refill in a different way. Counseling can be that space where you slow down, stir things up safely, and find your calm again.

So today, while you sip your favorite cup, ask yourself:
✨ What do I need more of right now?
✨ Rest? Support? Understanding?

Whatever your answer is, we’re here for it.

Call us today to schedule an individual or family session. Our clinicians are waiting to serve you and help you fill your cup again.

When your child’s behavior feels “big,” remember: every action is communication.
A meltdown might be a memory their body remembers but their words can’t explain.
Let’s decode those moments together.

Call us today — our trauma-informed clinicians are here to help your family reconnect and rebuild safety.
