Funeral services for Mrs. Vickie L. McCullough will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM; a visitation will take place at the funeral home on the same day from 12 o’clock noon until service time. Graveside services will follow in the Freedom Church Cemetery (Wesson, MS). Brookhaven Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Vickie McCullough, 71, of Wesson, MS passed away on Monday, February 16,2026 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS. She was born in Jayess, MS on December 31, 1954 to Howard Lambert and Blanche Louise Lambert.

She worked at Walmart Distribution Center for 18 ½ years, Potter Company in Wesson, MS for many years, as long as a sitter and caregiver for several families. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Louise Lambert; her son Fred Wayne McCullough; grandson Brett Foster; and brothers Jackie Lambert, Jimmy Lambert, and half- brother Bobby Dale Ruby.

Survivors are her husband, Fred McCullough; daughter Melinda Foster; and numerous other family members.

The family would like to offer a thank you to Danny and Rhonda Sisco for their friendship, support, and love they showed to Mrs. Vickie. They would also like to thank Dr. Hankins, Dr. Whittington, and nurses Kala Britt Kelly and Brookley Allen for their patience and understanding in caring for Mrs. Vickie after her stroke and limited mobility.

Please remember the family of Rev. Jimmie Smith in prayer.

Reverend Jimmie Thomas Smith, 93 of Brookhaven, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on February 17, 2026. He lived his life in devotion to Christ. His faith guided him daily and he shared God’s love throughout his many years of ministry. He served as a pastor in numerous south Mississippi churches and was bi-vocational working as a carpenter. The Southern Baptist Missions also appointed Jimmie and his wife, Mary as missionaries to Lander and Sheridan, Wyoming, and Whitehall, Montana where they served over 8 years total. Their primary focus was church planting and leadership development.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brookhaven Funeral Home in 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Brookhaven Funeral Home in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Greg Warnock will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-833-1441.

Reverend Smith is survived by his devoted wife of 74 years, Mary Jackson Smith; sons, David Jonathan Smith (Renae), and Henry Thomas Smith (Phyllis) of Brookhaven. He is also survived by grandchildren, Amanda Hartley (Russell) of Byram, Dale Smith of Georgia, and Felecia Smith (Jamie) of San Antonio; four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Smith and Ada Smith; infant son, Lucias Jeffrey; granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth Smith; and sisters, Henrietta Britt, Verlyn Vaughn, and Frances Bowman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Missions of choice or First Baptist Church of Brookhaven building fund.

On Monday, February 16, with visitation from 1:00 until 3:00 in the afternoon, followed by a Catholic Service at 3:00 PM, to take place in the funeral home chapel, with a private family burial following.

With faith in God, a love for his family, he accomplished so much in his lifetime and lived a full rewarding life. From Flora, Louisiana, and a long time resident of Prairieville, Louisiana. He served in the National Guard, retired from Exxon/Mobile Pipeline Company and continued working for Exxon in other countries. Later he began raising Brahman cattle; if you saw him on a tractor or in the pasture with Brahman cattle, you know he enjoyed it. Most of his favorite times was spent at his cabin in the woods of Mississippi. So many good times were had traveling & skiing with grandchildren.

We will strive to honor his memory by living a life with values, integrity, respect, showing love and kindness as he did.

He is preceded in death by his Flora family; Father JD Richard Rachal, Mother Florentine Rachal, Brother Richard Rachal, Grandson Casey Rachal.

We trust in the Lord, have faith & will forever cherish our memories.

Memorial services for Linda Faye Smith will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Clear Branch Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the church.

Linda Faye “Lynn” Smith, age 59, of Hazlehurst, Mississippi, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2026.

Born February 10, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Rex Herbert and Lilly Faye Weathersby, Linda was a woman of rooted faith and deep devotion to her family.

She was the faithful wife of Joseph Brent Smith for almost 44 years. She was preceded in death by daughter, Wendy Lane Smith.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Smith (Jeff) and Michael Smith (Sara); grandchildren Tucker, Levi, Lane, and Lucy. Her children and grandchildren were among her greatest pleasures and biggest accomplishments.

Lynn served 15 years in Wednesday nights children’s church at Clear Branch Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, planning family celebrations, Christmas traditions, Saints football, American Idol. She was known as excellent cook.

She is also survived by her brothers Rex Weathersby (Mary) and Don Weathersby (Abby), sister-in-law Joann Weathersby, niece Debbie Maldonado, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Gail Freels (Roy Lynn), Judy Baily (Dale), and Donna Weathersby (Billy).

Audrey Raye (Smith) Cupit died on January 31, 2026, at home. She was born on May 29, 1944, in Copiah County, Mississippi to Barney Smith and Mary Little Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Barney Smith, Jr. and baby James Herman Smith, and her sisters Ruth Elise Smith and Mary Lois Berry.

Audrey is survived by Carl, her husband of over 58 years; her sons Chris (Teresa) of McLean, Virginia and Brett (Dottie) of Richmond, Texas; and her grandchildren, Maddie, Jack, Ginny, Joshua, Josie, and Colin.

She is also survived by her brother John M. Smith of Georgetown, Mississippi; sisters Nellie B. Smith of Jackson, Ann Crosby of Sontag, Mississippi, and Margaret Lee (Sidney) of Magee, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to all those who offered up prayers for Audrey and to all those who provided food and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Bude from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6. Visitation will also be held at First Baptist Church of Bude on Saturday, February 7 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment follows at Midway Cemetery in Meadville, Mississippi.

Pallbearers: Jack Cupit, Johnny Smith, Lee Berry III, Tony Pogue, Robert Cupit, and Caleb Cupit. Honorary pallbearers: Chris and Brett Cupit and John M. Smith.

John Joseph McTaggart, 71, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1954 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Jack Monroe and Mary Frances McTaggart. His home church was Christ Revival Center for All Nations in Brookhaven, Mississippi. There he enjoyed worship and learning the word of God with his church family.

He worked for many years at Goldie’s Trail BBQ in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he was the head barbecue cook.

His hobbies were many and included woodworking, leather working, building furniture, cooking, and anything else he could find to keep himself busy. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren; specifically playing board games with his grandson, Andrew.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Preceding him in death was the love of his life, his beautiful wife Betty Jean; his precious mother, Mary Frances McTaggart; his father, Jack Monroe McTaggart; his big brother, Butch McTaggart and his brother-in-law whom he loved and highly respected, Bill Lee, Jr.

Survivors are his son, Aaron McTaggart; grandson, Andrew Conner McTaggart; daughter, Amanda Franklin, son-in-law Jonathan Franklin; granddaughter, Hannah Page; great-granddaughter, JaRiya Page; lil sister Patricia McTaggart Lee; niece, Lauren Breazeale and husband, Benjamin Breazeale; great-niece, MariJane Hixson; great-nephew, Liam Breazeale; nephews Lee Carpenter, Michael Partridge and wife, Stephanie; and a host of other family and friends to include his family in Christ in Brookhaven.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Cameron King, Sr., will be held at Bethel Community Church on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 11 o’clock in the morning; visitation will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, December 31, 2025, from 5 o’clock until 8 o’clock, and again on Thursday morning at Bethel Community Church from 10 o’clock until time of service. Mr. King, 86, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. He was born in Lincoln County on August 25, 1939, to James Hiram King and Dixie Della D***s King.

He was a lifelong and faithful member of Bethel Community Church. He loved the outdoors – especially fishing, hunting, and tending his cows and garden. He was a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of all, he loved his family; he was a devoted and loving husband to Mary, his wife of 51 years. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren; “Paw Paw Robert,” as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Case King; three brothers, James King, W.O. King, and Oliver King; and four sisters, Maudena King, Lottie Mae Tibbs, Ruby Williams, and Liz Lambert.

Survivors include his children; Cameron King (Sheila), Kevin King (Sonya), Lisa Wicker (Mark), and Lori Rushing (Ben); nine grandchildren, Dana Belanger (Ryan), Logan King (Stephanie), Kayla Hunsucker (Nick), Nathan Wicker (Natalie), Seth Wicker, Adam Rushing, Henry Rushing, Tori King, and Mary Beth Rushing; eight great-grandchildren, Ty, Brett, Kali, Conner, Zoey, Emma, Scott, and Jase; and a great-great grandchild, Kasen. He also leaves behind one sister, Helen Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Albert Milo Parsons, Sr., will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon; visitation will be held at the funeral home on the same day from 12:30 until time of service. Graveside services will be held at the Parsons Family Cemetery, McCall Creek, MS.

Bro. Parsons, 94, of Wesson, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025. He was born in Lucien, Mississippi on January 20, 1931, to William “Frank” Parsons and Blanche Smith Parsons.

Albert loved his wife and family, first and foremost. He also loved his country, serving in the United States Air Force in Amore, Japan. “Bro. Albert” was a Christian and served the Lord and the church as a deacon, minister of music, and as a pastor of Unity Baptist Church, Sardis Baptist Church, Springhill Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Fayette. His greatest passion was for missions. He worked for over forty years for BellSouth and served as Vice President of the Communications Workers of America, Local 3511 for most of that time. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish, though he sacrificed many opportunities for his own success in the woods in order to take time to teach his children and grandchildren the sport as well. He will be missed by his family and all those who knew him. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Hilda Parsons; son, Albert “Bert” Milo Parsons, Jr.; brothers, Thomas Parsons (Martha), William “Jack” Parsons (Marie), John Parsons (Helen), Edward Parsons (Bobbie), and James Parsons; sisters, Sallie Keene (Junior), Marie O’Quinn (Thomas), and Ruth McDonald; along with a brother-in-law, Jimmy Walker.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Louise Burch Parsons; his children, Jane Hudgens (Steve) and Thomas Parsons (Tracey); daughter-in-law, Pam Parsons; five grandchildren, Jeremy Thompson (Penny), Belinda Thompson, William Parsons, Taylor Parsons, and Grasey Parsons; six great-grandchildren, Sean Pearce (Autumn), Morgan Thompson (Tressie), Peyton Thompson (Kourtney), Garrett Pearce, Alexandra “Lexie” Pearce, and Elizabeth “Lu” Pearce; three great-greatgranchildren, Milo Thompson, Brandon Pearce, and Truitt Thompson; and one expected great-great grandchildren, Vivian Thompson. He also leaves behind, three sisters, Elaine Aldridge, Mary Hamilton (Robert), and Ann Walker; one brother, Wayne “Buddy” Parsons; and a brother-in-law, James McDonald.

Helen Roberts, 84, of Brookhaven, MS passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Trend Health & Rehab of Brookhaven, MS. She was born in Lincoln County, MS on January 9, 1941 to Shelton L. Bowman and Bessie Mae Case Bowman.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Helen enjoyed gardening, word puzzles, and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelton and Bessie Bowman; husband John Thomas Roberts; son John Charles Roberts; sister Beulah Mae Bowman Thompson; and brother H.D. Bowman.

Survivors are daughter, Annie Roberts Case (John Ricky); grandchildren, Jessica Case Albright (Marty) and Katie Case Dent (John); great grandchildren, Evelyn and Eliza Dent; and one brother Frank E. Bowman (Betty Ann).
