✨Therapy doesn’t always have to feel like “therapy✨

Sometimes, sitting face-to-face and talking can feel like a lot, especially for adolescents, teens, or those with anxiety who struggle to open up.

That’s why I often use puzzles, coloring pages, and hands-on activities into sessions. 🧩🎨

These activities help:
• Take the pressure off having to “know what to say”
• Reduce anxiety and restlessness
• Create a sense of safety and calm
• Make it easier for thoughts and feelings to flow naturally

While hands are busy, minds tend to relax and meaningful conversations often happen without forcing them. It’s not about avoiding the work; it’s about meeting clients where they are and creating space for healing in a way that feels manageable.

At Mending Pieces, therapy is tailored to the individual and not one-size-fits-all. 💜

Hey y’all hey! 💜

Thank you so much for all the congratulations, shares, comments, and love. I truly appreciate every bit of support and it does not go unnoticed.

I’m beyond grateful for my village and everyone who continues to support Mending Pieces and the work we’re doing. Thank you for believing in me and helping spread the word that mental health matters! There is so much work to be done!

Hey y’all hey!!!

I realized over the weekend that I never properly introduced myself, so here we are and please bear with me 😌

My name is LaKesha, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the owner of Mending Pieces.

I provide therapy for children, teens, and adults, supporting emotional growth through all stages of life. I help children learn how to regulate their emotions and use their words instead of behaviors, support teens dealing with anxiety, depression, and big feelings while finding their voice, and assist adults navigating emotional needs, life transitions, and parenting challenges because adulthood can be heavy sometimes.

I offer in-person and telehealth services in Mississippi, and telehealth services in Louisiana are coming soon. I also accept private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare.

From the moment I chose social work as my career, I knew that being a therapist and owning my own private practice was my end goal. I saw a real need for mental health services in my community and wanted therapy to feel accessible, affordable, and welcoming. I’ve spent my entire career working with some of the most vulnerable children and adults, and I honestly can’t imagine doing anything else. I truly enjoy helping people find their way during some of life’s toughest moments.

One thing I believe wholeheartedly is this: therapy doesn’t look the same for everyone. Everyone’s experience is different, and for the real work to begin, there has to be trust, respect, and safety—and that takes time.
You lead, and I’ll follow 😊

As I step a little outside of my comfort zone, I’ll be sharing more about what therapy actually looks like, how it can help, and the real benefits of prioritizing mental health, with hopes of educating and helping erase the stigma of mental health in my community.

So again, hello!
I’m LaKesha Robinson, LCSW, owner of Mending Pieces, and welcome to my mental health space 😌

Hey y’all hey 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾

If you’re anything like me, you probably made some kind of New Year’s resolution. Whether it’s to lose weight, get closer to God, travel more, practice more self-care, or be more present with friends and family.

But let’s not forget that taking care of ourselves and our families also means prioritizing mental well-being for ourselves and for our children.

Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, depression, emotional changes, or noticing concerns with your child’s behavior or emotions, starting now can make a lasting difference throughout the year.

Mending Pieces is here to support both children and adults on their journey toward emotional wellness, and we currently have appointments available.

To schedule or learn more, contact Mending Pieces at 601-455-6222.

Let this be the year you truly invest in mental well-being for yourself and for your family. 💙

📚✨ School is back in session and so are the emotions that come with it.

Hey y’all hey! I’m LaKesha, and I specialize in helping pre-teens and teens navigate the rollercoaster of adolescence. Between academic pressure, social changes, and figuring out who they are, it’s a lot and I’m here to help lighten that load.

I work with kids and teens who are dealing with:
Anxiety and depression
Low self-esteem
Big life changes (divorce, grief, transitions, etc.)
Just feeling overwhelmed and unsure

I provide a safe, judgment-free space where they can talk things out, learn healthy coping skills, and shift the way they see themselves and the world around them. My goal is to help them get to a place where life doesn’t feel so heavy and they can start to find their smile again.

👀 Parents — be mindful. If you notice your child’s mood has changed, their grades are slipping, or they’ve started pulling away from friends or family, don’t ignore it. These can be signs they need some extra support.

If you’re looking for someone your child can connect with and feel safe opening up to, I’d love to help. Feel free to message me or reach out — I’m here.

💛 Let’s help our kids thrive this school year- emotionally, mentally, and beyond.

Anxiety often stems from us wanting to control situations and outcomes. Being able to let go of this need for control can be a huge step towards finding peace and managing anxiety more effectively. Realizing that things are going to happen and focusing on what we can control, like our thoughts and reactions, can lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life. So if you're having issues with anxiety and have been unsuccessfully trying to manage it on your own, give us a call at 601-455-6222 🧡 "
