May is Better Speech and Hearing Month, but in reality, everyday is better hearing and speech! With our team of speech therapist and occupational therapist, the sky is the limit. ⭐️Therapist Spotlight⭐️

With the last day of Better Hearing and Speech Month upon us, we want to close out our Spotlighting of fabulous Speech-Language Pathologists with our fearless leader and Therapy Nook Founder, Millie Porter, MS, CCC-SLP.

To say Millie is a lover of learning would be the understatement of the year as she holds a Masters degree not only in Speech-Language Pathology, but in Dyslexia Therapy and Education as well. She is a specialist in Psychometry and is currently working towards her Ph. D in Developmental Psychology. While Millie’s academic record is certainly impressive, what is most remarkable about her is her love and devotion to learning and how it spills over into everything she does. Her background as a Speech-Language Pathologist paved the way for what is now an exciting and ever-growing learning adventure at the Reading Nook Academy, which just celebrated its first graduating class this May. Millie recognized from an early start that not all children learn the same way and what a vital task it is to ensure all children have the tools and resources they need to learn. And this is just one of the many reasons we love her here at the Therapy Nook.

Millie and her husband Blake are the proud parents of Meridith and Anniston. They have a crew of dogs at home, two of which can be seen at the Nook hanging out from time to time.
