Dear Visana Yogis,
It is with great sadness that I want to let you know that I have made the decision to close the studio. We have been dealing with the pandemic for 18 months now. We are not able to support the overhead it takes to have a lease without students in the studio. Most of our current students are still on zoom. We have lost over half of our original students. Teaching and being a student on zoom are not the same experience as being together in person. The community, comradery, personal instruction and fun we had when we were in the studio is missing.
Visana Yoga is nearing 13 years in business. In this time so many good things have been cultivated in our community and for us as individuals. Workshops, meditation, music events, art walks, special yoga teachings, guest teachers, beach parties and our 10-year anniversary celebration are just a few of the fun times we had together.
I don't know what is next. We will still have yoga in Brookings, it just may look different.
Each teacher may have a different way of moving forward in this challenging time.
Impermanence, life unfolding and changing; something we are all familiar with.
My plan is to close at the end of October. After October 1st we will take no money for classes but let people use up their passes and then come for no charge till the end of the month. There will be no refunds so please come as much as you can in the next 5 weeks.
I have a heavy heart. I have so much gratitude to you all and what we created and sustained all these years.
With so much love, Lynn,
and your beloved teachers, Babs, Karli and Christine
