Happy New Year, family! As we step into this fresh 2025 chapter, we know it’s a wonderful time to reflect on past achievements and successes, but let’s not forget the failures and challenges. 2024 was a hard year for me and many others. So as we enter a space of renewal let’s not forget to keep ourselves at the forefront. Self care is care! We can’t pour from an empty cup.

Hmm I wonder why that’s the case? 🤔😅

✅ We listen to our clients. Women are tired of being treated less than, not listened to, disrespected, ignored, assigned labels ie geriatric etc, being traumatized throughout their pregnancy, labor and births sometimes without even knowing it.

✅ Individualize care is our priority. Care is not a one size fits all.

✅ We build relationships with our clients, their partners, and older siblings. So we’re not strangers to each other which allows a level of trust.

✅ We focus on healthy diets, healthy lifestyle habits, holistic care and mental wellbeing which increases likelihood of a healthy pregnancy, labor & birth process and postpartum period.

✅ We’re trained in low risk pregnancies, birth and postpartum care.

Jacob’s birth was an unexpected quick labor and birth for this first time mama. But she rocked it, and she did the same for baby number 2 both at 38wks. I think it was okra water 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

When they ask if siblings can come to a birth…my response, of course they can! 😍

Families often wonder if it's ok to include older siblings at a birth. Yes, it is and I encourage it. Why?

✅ It helps take the fear out of birth...it's a normal physiological process, right?

✅ They're often curious anyway so why not include them so they can satisfy their curiosity.

✅ We are there to answer their questions and concerns so you don't have to. Plus we give the reassurance all is well.

✅ If they don't want any parts, that's okay too! No need to force them. They're often in the other room sleeping, playing, or peeking in for a quick look.
Exposure can always be tricky but in this situation attending a birth can truly change their perceptions of what birth is all about.
