Meet Chloe 💙💫 With a background in political science and journalism, Chloe is a full-time book designer specializing in books on politics, history, and culture 📚 In her yoga teaching, Chloe brings together her love of meaningful stories with her deep passion for movement and mindfulness.

Chloe’s background in yoga and movement began with Hot 26, as well as Iyengar with the inimitable Patricia Walden 🧘‍♀️ What began as a solo exploration of Ashtanga during the pandemic quickly turned into a lifelong journey. Chloe completed her 200 Hour Teacher Training at Down Under and a 300-hour training with Jason Crandell. She began teaching during the pandemic and was deeply inspired by the connections formed through practice, even in uncertain times 💞

Chloe’s classes are strength-focused, rooted in engagement, control, and centerline awareness 🎯 She creates classes that are physically challenging yet deeply encouraging. She believes asana is a tool for moving prana and building resilience, and she strives to create a space where students can show up exactly as they are.

Stay for Savasana 💆‍♀️ Every yoga practice ends with a final rest pose, called Savasana (‘Corpse Pose’). It can be tempting to skip Savasana, perhaps because it feels like the “real work” of the yoga practice is done 🚩 But this couldn’t be further from the truth!

Many yoga teachers think of Savasana as one of the most, if not THE most, important pose of practice for two main reasons:

1️⃣ Savasana is where we absorb and integrate the effects of our active practice – all that movement and activity of our muscles, joints, energy, and attention 🧠 💪 It’s the time when the body and mind get to process that information and let it settle.

2️⃣ Savasana is an important practice for our nervous systems. In modern daily life, we spend a lot of time with our nervous systems activated – hypervigilant, stressed, and stimulated 🌀 Some of that is necessary and good, but we need some down-regulation as well to restore balance ⚖️ Savasana calms and quiets the nervous system, providing us a much needed chance to reset 🌱

It’s important to honor the fact that resting can feel hard for some of us. Next time you’re tempted to leave during Savasana, reconsider the necessity of rest: your body and mind will thank you 🙏

🤫 And if life is calling and you have to leave early, respect your fellow students’ need for rest and step out 10 minutes before the end of class.

Dharma Talks: How Yoga Training Can Free Us From the Trap of Monotony ⛓️‍💥 Lead Teacher Trainer Gregor Singleton shares how Teacher Training can take us beyond our day-to-day routines and habits, and provide us the time, space, and tools to explore more expansive ways of being in the world 🌍 For Gregor, being a yoga teacher means helping to open those possibilities for others, so that they, too, can find and feel a deeper sense of meaning and connectedness to the universal human spirit 🤝💓

Have you ever felt trapped by your day-to-day “programming,” like there must be something more? Are you ready to move into deeper inquiry, and to help others live more meaningfully? 🌱

Meet Margaret 🩰 Margaret’s journey with Pilates began at age 16 in her small Midwestern hometown, as soon as she was old enough to attend group fitness classes. She was immediately drawn to movement as a practice that fosters embodied awareness, coordination, and a deeper connection to self 🦋

Off the mat, Margaret is a psychiatrist specializing in women’s mental health, eating disorders, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy 🙏 Outside of her clinical work, she writes about the intersections of creativity and well-being on Substack and TikTok, exploring how ordinary life can be a canvas for intentional living and self-discovery.

Margaret’s classes offer a flowing blend of classical Pilates and exercise science principles 🧬💪 She hopes students leave more in tune with their own bodies and better equipped with knowledge to support their strength and well-being.
