Join us next week in our celebration of White Cane Awareness Day led by the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind! Every October we join with the blind and low vision community of Massachusetts to celebrate the independence of the white cane and help raise awareness of the White Cane Law in Massachusetts which requires drivers to identify and yield to pedestrians using a white cane or dog guide at street crossings.

We'll be at the State House next Friday for the annual celebration from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Register for the event here: https://bit.ly/47uHNnw

MABVI Executive Director Jen Harnish joined colleagues from across disciplines at the Academy 2025 Boston symposium, “Mental Health Considerations in Older Adults and Vision Impairment.”

This joint session between the Low Vision Section and Vision in Aging SIG brought together experts in psychology, rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and low vision care to explore how we can better support the emotional and functional well-being of older adults experiencing vision loss.

We’re proud to have Jen representing MABVI in advancing inclusive, person-centered care for older adults with vision impairment. 💙
