Boston Sport and Performance Psychology Maximizing mental fitness to achieve peak performance

Most committed athletes will spend thousands of hours training for the physical and strategic elements of their sport. Adding a focus on mental skills training and preparation can have a tremendous impact on overall well-being and sport performance. Performance enhancement training offers an individualized training program in specific mental skills that have been shown to improve performance and make it more consistent. Boston Sport and Performance Psychology provides this training to individuals, teams, and coaches in both one-on-one and small- or large-group workshop formats.

Musicians and athletes have a lot in common, and sports psychologists can help us *all* learn how to perform better under pressure. (Even folks who don't think of themselves as performers benefit from this type of knowledge!)

But many musicians have to work through a layer of trauma, in addition to the day-to-day pressures of performance.

๐Ÿค• Trauma from abusive former teachers, really difficult past performances, dysfunctional tenure processes. ๐Ÿค•

Enter the wonderful Marla Zucker, a sports psychologist who began her career working in the field of trauma. I can't imagine a better person to help the fabulous ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ musicians to up their game โซ and build the resilience they need for a long career in this demanding field ๐Ÿ’–.

We spent a group coaching session talking with Marla about everything from where to put our focus while performing (it's different for different folks), to how to keep our confidence up while recovering from an injury or setback.

๐Ÿ’ What a gift! ๐Ÿ’
