Today is a great day for skipping, hopping & jumping! (Run at your own risk 🤣)
Your fascia acts like a biological spring system
Your body isn’t built like a stack of rigid parts.
It behaves more like an elastic system.
A key player in this system is fascia, the connective tissue network that surrounds muscles, bones, organs, and nerves.
Fascia contains collagen fibers that can store and release elastic energy, similar to how a spring works.
When you move in rhythmic, spring-like ways, the tissue can temporarily store mechanical energy and then release it again during the next movement.
This helps make motion more efficient and fluid.
Many natural human movements take advantage of this elastic system, including:
• skipping
• hopping
• jumping
• running
These movements train the body’s ability to absorb force and recoil, which is part of how the musculoskeletal system is designed to work.
In other words:
Your body was built for rhythm, elasticity, and movement.
