Spokane District 9 Firefighters Update | NFPA 1582 → 1580 Transition in Action
With the transition from NFPA 1582 to NFPA 1580 emphasizing annual testing, age-adjusted fitness standards, and comprehensive health coverage, departments are rethinking how occupational health and early detection integrate.
We recently completed a program in Spokane in collaboration with PHS, delivering physician-led NFPA 1580 physicals aligned with the updated framework.
In addition to required evaluations, the program included:
• Full-Body Ultrasound
• Professional interpretations from a fully accredited company
• Telemedicine consultation for follow-up
• Hospital-grade diagnostic calibration through the UDS/PHS collaboration
Compliance matters. But combining compliance with true early detection is what protects careers — and lives.
