It’s on everyone’s minds these days: FIBER.

So many patients don’t get enough fiber! It makes sense considering how surprisingly difficult it can be to work these foods in your diet when you’re busy, stressed, and low on energy.

The typical recommendation is 25 to 35 grams per day and you can do that by simply adding some fiber-rich foods to every meal.

With everyone’s minds on holiday dinners for these last few weeks of the year, we often forget about breakfast! Whether you’re serving just yourself or a big family this year, you can count on this delicious quiche to give you a great, nutrition-packed breakfast or even lunch!

It’s also great for any morning that you can slow down and enjoy. I got this recipe from NYT but you can modify it as you like. It has lots of protein, fiber, and a bit of fat to keep you satisfied.

Once you’re further down your nutrition care path, you might be feeling something a lot of other patients struggle with once they’ve started figuring out routines and what they need in their diet: frustration. A lot of patients worry about how they’re making “progress.” But progress isn’t just a number on a scale or a lab chart. As a nutritionist, I also look for other markers that show me how a patient is progressing beyond their lab work results.
