✨ Today the spotlight is on one of the best evidence-based and highly skilled approaches we offer here, at Therapy Matters NY SLP: PROMPT Therapy! 🤲🗣

Looking for a proven, hands-on approach to help your child speak more clearly? PROMPT therapy uses gentle touch cues on the face to guide the jaw, lips, and cheeks—helping kids learn precise mouth movements for accurate speech.
💡 How it works:
Touch cues act like a map for your child’s articulators

Supports voiced vs. voiceless sounds 🔊🤐

Gradually fades guidance—like removing training wheels 🚲—so speech becomes natural and independent

Suitable for all ages, PROMPT is especially effective for those with difficulty planning, coordinating, or controlling speech movements, including apraxia of speech and other motor-based speech disorders 💬

✅ Top-rated, hands-on therapy that really works!

Give your child the tools to speak confidently and clearly—because every voice matters.

Please feel free to inquire more info here or call/WhatsApp us at 347-292-9899.

Today we’re having fun with the tricky Vocalic R! 🗣 We’re practicing pulling the tongue back and bunching it into a ‘taco’ 🌮 shape, which helps get it into just the right spot. Using coarticulation, we’re guiding the tongue and lips to move together smoothly, making it easier to produce that perfect R sound. Little activities like this turn tricky sounds into a fun challenge and help build strong speech skills!

Reading these reviews fills our hearts and reminds us why this work is so deeply meaningful to us.
Behind every message is a story of courage, trust, and perseverance — and families who never stopped believing in progress.

2025 was a year of powerful milestones: first confident bites, smoother mealtimes, clearer words, stronger voices, and so many moments of pride at the table and beyond. These wins may look small from the outside, but we know how big they truly are.

We are endlessly grateful to the families who trusted us with such important journeys. Thank you for showing up, asking questions, celebrating every step forward, and allowing us to be part of your story.

At TMNY, we don’t just provide therapy — we cheer, we support, we celebrate, and we care deeply about every child and every family we serve.
Here’s to growth, resilience, and many more milestones ahead 💛✨

As we close out the year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything 2025 has brought—smiles, milestones, mealtimes, and so many meaningful moments with our families. We’re incredibly proud of the growth we’ve witnessed and the successes we’ve shared, all while staying true to our mission of delivering highly skilled, genuinely personalized care.

With that same commitment in mind, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our newest community initiative: FEEDING MATTERS FOR ALL, beginning January 2026.

Launching Thursday, January 8th, 2026, this program offers high-quality clinical feeding and swallowing services on a Pay-As-You-Wish Clinic basis.

Same expertise. Same care. Same skilled therapists.

Just a price that truly works for YOU.

Beginning this November, and continuing every 1st Thursday of the month from 10:00am–12:00pm, families will receive:

• A skilled assessment of your child’s oral-motor and feeding abilities

• Clear, compassionate guidance to help you understand why your child is struggling

• Practical, home-based recommendations to make mealtimes safer, calmer, and more successful

• Support across a wide range of feeding needs—including bottle feeding, lactation, medically complex feeding challenges, tube feedings, and more

This initiative was created to expand access, provide relief, and ensure that more families receive the support they deserve during the most foundational years of development.

Important notes:

• This service is for new families only

• Appointments are first come, first served and may involve a short waitlist

• Regular onboarding procedures will apply

✨ We cannot wait to serve more families and make a meaningful difference—because every child’s feeding journey matters. Truly.

At Therapy Matters NY SLP, we believe that true progress begins with an understanding of the main body functions—not just its structures.

That’s why every infant, child, and adult who walks through our doors begins with our signature FUNCTIONAL Assessment—a uniquely comprehensive evaluation that goes far beyond a traditional screening.

We look at the body as an interconnected system where the core functions—
feeding & swallowing, breathing, sleeping, speaking, and oral rest posture—work together to support one's long-term wellness.

Unlike traditional evaluations that focus on isolated symptoms, this assessment examines the body as an integrated system. When one function is disrupted, compensations often appear in other areas, creating patterns that persist unless the underlying imbalance is addressed.

Our highly trained speech, feeding, oral-motor, and myofunctional therapists analyze how each system interacts, identify the root causes beneath the symptoms, and create a personalized plan that restores balance, efficiency, and comfort.
We also collaborate with ENTs, orthodontists, physical therapists, and other specialists to ensure that no other body function is overlooked.

The FUNCTIONAL Assessment may be right for you or your child if you notice:

• Mouth breathing, open-mouth posture, or drooling
• Snoring, restless sleep, daytime fatigue, or difficulty focusing
• Teeth crowding, narrow palate, or orthodontic relapse
• Persistent articulation errors despite months (or years) of speech therapy
• Picky eating, messy eating, or difficulty chewing meats or raw veggies safely

✨ At TMNY, we don’t chase symptoms—we uncover the “why,” empower the “how,” and support the whole system.

🥕 Exploring new foods, one sense at a time!
Using the SOS Approach to Feeding, we follow a fun hierarchy — exploring foods through sight, touch, smell, and taste.

🎨 We use dot markers to track progress and keep motivation high!
👀👃✋👅 Describing each food’s color, shape, taste, and temperature helps build confidence and positive connections with new foods.

Every small step counts toward a more confident, curious eater!

One button, tons of benefits ✨

Button pulls help strengthen the lips for a strong, stable lip seal — and that lip seal is key for consistent nasal breathing, healthy oral-rest posture, and better airflow 👃💨

With myofunctional therapy, simple exercises turn into real, meaningful progress for speech, feeding, and overall oral function 👄💙

Today’s session was all about playful food exploration and building strong oral-motor foundations! 👅🦷✨

👅We practiced tongue lateralization, consecutive lateral chews, and gentle oral desensitization using our trusty Chewy Tube.

🥛 The “no, thank you” or "all done" bowl was out too—perfect for giving kiddos a safe spot to place foods they’re not ready for (and keeping them off the floor 😉).

👄 Our Z-Vibe added extra sensory input and oral awareness to support readiness for new textures and better coordination. ✨

👾To keep everything fun and pressure-free, we fed our silly food-monster and “colored” with food on our exploration page—making new foods feel safe, playful, and empowering. 🎨🧃👾
