It is with great sadness and grief that we share news of the passing of our dear friend, colleague and former pediatrician, Dr. Stephanie Shaps. As many of you may already know, Dr. Shaps was our very first pediatrician at Leaf Medical. She joined Leaf Medical in 2013 and implemented our Pediatrics section, created classes for community outreach and mentored our incoming pediatricians and family physicians. She truly embodied Leaf Medical’s mission to provide high quality preventive medicine.
Unfortunately, three years ago, Dr. Shaps was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. It was devastating news but she put on a brave face and kept on seeing patients until she could not anymore. Dr. Shaps was truly special. She brought kindness, knowledge and compassion to her patients every day. It was such a privilege to know someone so genuine, dedicated, full of love and always willing to help. We are thankful to have been able to share this part of her life journey with her. She will be greatly missed.
