If you’re a Yoga or Pilates teacher
and feel like your classes are always “doing”…

This is your missing piece.

Restorative is not just slow yoga.
It’s where real regulation happens.

Including anatomy, neuroscience,
and the subtle body.

so you can move away from “just guessing”
into clear, intentional teaching.

Your clients don’t need more intensity.
They need to learn how to rest.

Restorative Yoga Training
Starting in May 1st.

Meet our amazing workstudy Andrea ✨🥰

Andrea joined Dou in 2020 after moving to NYC. She first began practicing virtually and soon became a Work Study, Dou has been a home for her ever since.

For the past 6 years, she has been a steady and meaningful part of our community, and we are so deeply grateful for her presence, support, and dedication 🫶🏼

Amid the busy pace of city life, deepening her practice has brought her a sense of stability and stillness. Outside the studio, Andrea teaches elementary school, spends time outdoors, and can almost always be found on her bike 🚲

Through life’s changes and everyday hustle, Dou continues to be a constant space of connection and support,” Andrea shares. 🥹

We’re truly grateful to have her as part of our community🌱👏 Meet her on Thursday 6:30pm & Friday 5pm classes 💛

How is your April so far?

The weather has been a bit of a roller coaster…
and in many ways, life feels the same.

In times like this, I’m reminded, we’re not meant to move through it alone.

There is something powerful about gathering.
Moving together. Breathing in the same space.
Being seen, without needing to perform.

At Dou, community is at the heart of what we do.
Not just practicing beside each other,
but holding space for each other.

A space to slow down.
To reconnect.
To remember that support is already here.

You don’t have to do this alone.
We’re here.

Under the full moon,
we take a moment to come home to ourselves 🌕

As March comes to a close,
we reflect with gratitude
and release what we no longer need.

Spring is a season of renewal 🌱
a reminder that growth begins from within.

We are so grateful for this community,
for your presence, your breath, and your practice.

As we move into a new month and a new season,
may you feel supported, open,
and inspired to begin again✨

Today, we want to highlight our amazing work-study, Jutsmar! ✨ She is such a sweetheart, and we truly appreciate her energy, it makes our community feel even more warm and welcoming. 🥰

She is a Venezuelan, New York City–based creative and curator. She lives in the present, embraces the unknown, and hopes to feel a little freer and lighter each day. Naturally curious, she discovered Dou by simply following that curiosity.

A message from her:
“I’m not only happy about my decision to be here, but I also feel honored to have met such incredible people.”

Come meet her this weekend! 😬
Saturday at 11:30am or Sunday at 10am 🌸✨

Workstudy Highlight: Micah 👋🏼✨

Micah was a member of our community and later became part of our Workstudy team! We’re so happy to have him on the team. His presence and dedication mean a lot to us, and we truly appreciate you, Micah 💞

Meet Micah:
Born and raised in Michigan, Micah moved to NYC 8 years ago by way of Seattle. He has been part of the Dou community since September 2022 and joined the Workstudy program in June 2024.

“I started practicing yoga at 18, and honestly, I hated it at first. I couldn’t focus, my body felt agitated, and I was constantly uncomfortable. But I always loved how I felt after class: stretched, stronger, calmer, and more grounded. The more I practiced, the easier it became, and now it’s a staple in my life.

As a psychologist specializing in complex trauma, depression, and su***de, body-based practices like yoga and qigong are vital to my work. They help me stay grounded and support me through the intensity of working with patients. I often arrive at class feeling tense and disheveled, and leave feeling more integrated.

What also draws me to Dou is the community. Yoga helps me settle into my body, and this community helps me settle into relationship. The teachers, workstudies, and members make this space feel like home.”

✨ Q***r Chronic Cuties — Part 2
🌿 Spring Equinox Gathering
📅 March 21 | Friday 8–9:30pm
💛 $30 (10% of proceeds go to )

Join Hanne Larsen ( ) at Dou Yoga for a community-centered workshop created for queer-identifying chronic cuties.

Over 90 minutes, we’ll check in with ourselves and one another, learn about chronic pain, practice a gentle and supportive yoga sequence, and hold space for reflection. Together, we’ll create a small toolbox of practices to support you moving into the new season.

Held on the Spring Equinox, a moment of balance between light and dark, this gathering invites us to gently emerge from winter, reconnect with our bodies, and nourish ourselves in community.

Above all, we’ll weave joy throughout the evening, because healing is not only about tending to pain, but also making space for ease, connection, and smile.💛
