What a gift to share two joyful moments with our neighbors.

At St. Ephrem Catholic Church, “Pasta with our Pastor” brought everyone together around Father Robert’s warm welcome and more than ten delicious pasta styles prepared by Cheryl. Bon Appetit to all who cooked and served & congratulations to Cheryl, crowned champion of the Epic Tiramisu Showdown. Every bite and every laugh made the evening special.

Our thanks as well to the Life Center of New York for their inspiring “Fall Festival for Life.” The community showed up with great food, generous raffle baskets, and wonderful company - and we were even treated to a fantastic Rubik’s Cube magic performance. How amazing to see so many hearts united in support.

We are proud to stand with the people and organizations that make Brooklyn feel like family. Thank you for letting us share in the celebration, and we look forward to many more moments together.

Congratulations to Redeemer - St. John's Lutheran Church & Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on another wonderful community event: Oktoberfest. From plates filled with bratwurst and sauerkraut to lively dancing, beautiful music from the local choir, and games for the children, it was community at its best.

Events like this bring neighbors together, build friendships, and remind us how strong our shared traditions are. We wish the parish continued success and we are proud to support future endeavors that uplift families and celebrate community.

October gave us many reasons to smile as we celebrated Italian Heritage Month across our community. We proudly congratulate the National Federation of Italian-American Societies, Inc. and the FIAO - Il Centro Community Center on a memorable season of events. Bravissimi to this year’s honorees and scholarship recipients for your leadership, service, and dedication to education.

Thank you to the volunteers, families, and community partners who make these programs possible. Heritage, faith, and family shape a life’s legacy, and we are honored to support organizations that uplift culture, language, and opportunity throughout Brooklyn and beyond.

Thank you to all the families who stopped by on Halloween. Seeing children in costume, parents catching up on the sidewalk, and neighbors sharing a laugh reminded us why community matters. We were grateful to hand out candy, play a little festive music, and offer a safe, welcoming space for everyone to enjoy the evening together.

As we look back on the night, we also look inward. The days that follow Halloween lead us into All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day - moments set aside to honor the lives of those who have gone before us. In this season of remembrance, we hold close the names, stories, and traditions that keep our loved ones present in our hearts. Whether your loss is recent or years behind you, grief has its own rhythm. You’re not alone in it.

If you’d like a quiet moment to reflect, say a prayer, or speak with someone, our doors are open. We can help you light a candle in memory of a loved one or offer simple ideas for honoring their legacy at home with family - sharing a favorite recipe, setting a place at the table, or telling a cherished story. If you prefer, you can share a name or memory in the comments so our community can remember with you.

From our family to yours, thank you for trusting us to be part of your lives in both joyful and sacred moments. We’re here whenever you need us - day or night - with compassion, guidance, and care.

With warm regards,
The Miraglia Family

As we say goodbye to the final day of September and welcome the crisp air of fall, we take a moment to reflect on a season filled with meaningful connections, heartfelt memories, and powerful community events.

One highlight that truly touched our hearts this summer was Relay For Life of Brooklyn, held at the Parkville Youth Organization Ballfield. This incredible event brought together survivors, caregivers, local organizations, and families from all walks of life to raise over $95,000 for the American Cancer Society fight against cancer

We were deeply honored to stand alongside so many devoted teams, including Maimonides Cancer Center, Il Centro Community Center (FIAO), local schools, scout troops, and countless others. The Miraglia Family Team participated not just in memory, but in purpose.

This year’s Relay held special meaning for all of us. We walked in honor of Clarice and Dominic Miraglia, both of whom bravely battled cancer and left behind a legacy of love, service, and compassion. They dedicated their lives to comforting families in their greatest time of need. Their light continues to guide our mission to provide help to families when they need it the most.

We were honored to once again take part in the dunk tank fundraiser, helping raise money for a cause that touches the hearts of so many.

As the Luminaria ceremony closed the evening, candles lit the night sky - a symbol of remembrance, hope, and the shared fight against a disease that touches every life.

We thank everyone who showed up, donated, walked, or stood in solidarity. The strength of our Brooklyn community continues to inspire us every day.

This past week, Miraglia Funeral Chapels had the honor of participating in the NYPD National Night Out events with both the 62nd and 68th Precincts, celebrating over 40 years of building stronger police-community partnerships.

We joined fellow community leaders and families where the night was filled with laughter, rides for the kids, live music, and meaningful tributes.

It was a privilege to witness the awards presentation honoring local civic leaders including Ansen Tang, Frank Naccarato, Inna Lukyanenko, Jack Spatola, Wai Yee Chan, and Ross Faillace, all recognized for their outstanding efforts in strengthening the Brooklyn community.

A particularly touching moment was the dedication of a memorial plaque to the late Eileen LaRuffa, a longtime volunteer whose legacy continues to inspire. Her son Dominic accepted the honor on behalf of the family, surrounded by friends and fellow volunteers.

Our mission extends beyond serving families during times of loss — we are proud to stand alongside the men and women who work daily to make our community safer, more united, and more compassionate.

Thank you to the NYPD, community councils, and all those who came out to support such an important cause. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you.

🇺🇸 Happy Birthday, America.
Today, as we celebrate 249 years of independence, we take a moment to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who helped shape this great nation.

We reflect on the countless lives — past and present — who have defended the freedoms we cherish. We remember with gratitude the service members, first responders, and everyday heroes whose legacies inspire us to be better, kinder, and stronger together.

May this Independence Day be a time for reflection, remembrance, and appreciation of the values that unite us as one nation.

Wishing everyone a safe, meaningful, and peaceful 4th of July.

🇺🇸 Honoring 250 Years of Service & 200 Years of Legacy at Fort Hamilton 🇺🇸

We were proud to stand alongside neighbors, veterans, and community leaders in celebration of two historic milestones: the 250th Birthday of the United States Army and the 200th Anniversary of Fort Hamilton, right here in Brooklyn.

Fort Hamilton has stood as a symbol of strength and dedication since its cornerstone was laid in 1825. As one of the oldest Army installations in the nation, its legacy is deeply intertwined with our city’s and our country’s history.

The evening was filled with powerful tributes, musical performances, a breathtaking fireworks display, and moments of deep reflection. Among the many in attendance were proud members of local Kiwanis Clubs, the Knights of Columbus, Civic Associations, Veteran groups, and other outstanding charitable and community organizations — all gathered together in honor of those who serve and protect.

We understand the importance of legacy, honor, and remembrance. From the Revolutionary War to present-day service, the U.S. Army has shaped our nation with unwavering dedication. We remain deeply committed to honoring those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice, and to serving the families who carry on their memory.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the Fort Hamilton Garrison and all who made this event a true celebration of courage, sacrifice, and community spirit.

Let us continue to honor the lives of those who built this nation, protected its freedoms, and shaped our communities. May we never forget the price of peace, nor the heroes who made it possible.

This Memorial Day, we honored the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the foundation upon which our freedoms stand, and their courage echoes through every generation.

At Miraglia Funeral Chapels, Inc., we are deeply humbled by their legacy. As a funeral home with nearly 140 years of serving families in New York City, we understand the weight of grief—and the importance of remembrance.

To the families of the fallen, we hold you in our hearts. Your loved ones will never be forgotten. Their service, their sacrifice, and their spirit live on.

May we never forget. May we always honor.
God bless the fallen, their families, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸
