We had a great time connecting with the community at St. George Adult Day Care for a diabetes education session.

Our Maimonides Health team led a discussion on prediabetes, balanced nutrition, and ways to help prevent the onset of diabetes, with a highly engaged group of 28 attendees who asked thoughtful questions and participated throughout.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our partners at the St. George Community Center for hosting. We’re proud to continue bringing education and resources directly into the communities we serve.

April is Move More Month! 🏃

At Maimonides Health, we believe that movement is medicine. Whether it’s a brisk walk through the park, a quick stretch between meetings, or a full workout, staying active is one of the best ways to support your heart, mind, and overall well-being.

Physical activity helps lower the risk of chronic diseases, improves your mood, and boosts energy levels. Our goal is to help our Brooklyn community find joy in being active—no matter your fitness level.

🌟 Simple Ways to Move More:
Take the stairs whenever possible.
Go for a 10-minute walk after lunch.
Stretch while watching your favorite show.
Park a little further away to get those extra steps in.

Every step counts toward a healthier you. Let’s get moving together!

A space designed for healing — and for being a kid.

Maimonides Children’s Hospital has unveiled a newly renovated patient playroom, made possible through the generous support of the Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation Foundation.

The redesigned space features interactive, sensory, and creative elements that help reduce anxiety, encourage play, and bring a sense of normalcy to children during their hospital stay.

Thank you to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for helping us create a brighter, more supportive environment for our youngest patients and their families.

Colorectal cancer is rising in younger adults and too often, the signs are missed.

In a recent Brooklyn Paper feature, Dr. Rebecca Rhee and Dr. Julie Yang of Maimonides Health are raising awareness about this growing trend, emphasizing the importance of early screening and listening to your body.

The story also highlights patient Tammy Smith, whose experience is a powerful reminder that symptoms shouldn’t be ignored even at a young age.

With colorectal cancer rates increasing in people under 50, education, awareness, and timely screening have never been more important.
