We’re proud to share that Ken Gibbs, our President and CEO, has been named to City and State NY's 2026 Brooklyn Power 100 list.

Under Ken’s leadership, we have grown into Brooklyn’s essential hub for specialty and community care, serving more than 320,000 patients each year and expanding access to high-quality care across Southern Brooklyn. Ken spearheaded our efforts to establish Brooklyn’s only Pediatric Trauma Center and Comprehensive Spine Center, open the Maimonides Doctors Multispecialty Pavilion, and develop the largest robotic surgery program in Brooklyn. Most recently, he oversaw the completion of our new, state-of-the art psychiatric and pediatric emergency departments.

Please join us in congratulating Ken on this well-deserved recognition of his leadership and lasting impact on health care access across Brooklyn. Learn more about his accomplishments

We’re proud to share that Dr. John Marshall, our Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, has been named to City and State NY's 2026 Trailblazers in Health Care list.

Each day, Dr. Marshall oversees medical affairs at Brooklyn’s largest hospital, guiding more than 1,300 physicians across trauma, cardiac, cancer and pediatric care. An emergency physician at our hospital for over two decades, he has played a pivotal role in creating Brooklyn’s first and only Pediatric Trauma Center and in unifying more than 700 physicians into a single interdisciplinary faculty practice to improve patient access across the borough.

Congratulations, Dr. Marshall!

We got to celebrate a team that keeps Maimonides moving while most of the city sleeps—our night shift staff.

From 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM in the Main Hospital Lobby, we hosted a Valentine’s Day–themed Night Shift Celebration filled with music, karaoke, snacks, creativity, and well-deserved moments of connection. The turnout was incredible, and the energy in the room said it all.

To our night shift colleagues: we see you. We appreciate you. And we are better because of you.

🧠💬 A new chapter for women’s health care is unfolding in Brooklyn.

We just opened our Women’s Neurology Center—the first of its kind in New York City.

The new Center brings neurology and OB/GYN experts together to support patients with migraines, multiple sclerosis, stroke risk, or neurologic concerns related to hormonal changes, including during life events such as pregnancy and menopause. Many neurologic conditions affect women differently—and too often their symptoms are misunderstood, overlooked, or treated in isolation rather than through coordinated care.

Read Gabriele Holtermann’s Brooklyn Paper story to hear directly from patients about what coordinated care means for them: https://brnw.ch/21wZRTv

Maimonides Health marked a new chapter in women’s health care on Jan. 28 with the grand opening of its Women’s Neurology Center at the Maimonides Doctors
