Cut the crap 🚫 literally.

We’re decluttering and deep cleaning for Spring because a flower can’t bloom in a neglected space onbvyyy.

And bringing in maximalism only works when the foundation is intentional.

SO before we start layering color, art, rugs, and personality into our homes, we need space for those pieces to actually shine.

Clear the clutter.

Reset the room.

Then we can start bringing the maximalist style into your home the right way with

this is just a quick run thru of some spring and summer looks 💁🏾‍♀️ lmk if you’d like more of a breakdown like colors, accessories, fragrances, etc because

becomes maximalism becomes REGULATED when everything feels like it belongs🤌🏾

and that’s what i like to call muted maximalism which doesn’t mean all one color 🚫 but rather it means:
✨ one cohesive theme
✨ controlled color repetition
✨ intentional layering
✨ visual cadence instead of visual chaos

here’s how to do it without overwhelming your space (or your brain):
• choose 1–2 anchor colors + repeat them throughout the room
• stick to 1 emotional tone (moody, romantic, playful but try not to choose all three at once)
• mix textures like velvet + wood + metal >>> 12 competing prints
• let one item be loud so either oversized artwork or overhead lighting, etc and then the rest of pieces in the room should support it.

because maximalism becomes dysregulating when every furniture and accent piece is fighting for attention.

1. Create a Physical Transition Ritual
(because ur nervous system needs a signal that work is over)
Try:
• changing clothes immediately preferably into oversized /loose clothing (soft sets from are a great choice since the fabric can help to calm and soothe)
• switching off the big light and turning on one table side warm lamp
• step outside for a 5–10 minute walk without your phone

these tiny sensory cues tell your body: we are safe to not be in hyper vigilance mode rt now.

save this for later when you’re still moving in work mode.

cause im not sure where the disconnect happened but allow me to explain why understanding the difference of being selfish from actively preserving yourself.

being selfish is to center yourself above others (feelings, safety, etc).

practicing self preservation is considering your capacity before actively engaging.

the swipe. the texture. the color.🖍️
