If you were listening to Z100 this morning, you may have heard our very own alum, Stella Fulman, discuss with Elvis Duran and the Morning Show why it is important to visit an audiologist. The hosts begin discussing hearing at around 1:03:30, and Dr. Fulman comes on at about 1:16:00.

Kevin Devine and Casey Jost stop by to talk about their new podcast, 'Give It a Chance!' It's available now wherever you get your podcasts! Plus, we play a game involving celebrity beef, and it's Food News Thursday so Froggy has a countdown for us. See om...

Our very own BC alumna, Olga Lis, is featured on Unitron's social media pages for International Women's Day!

"I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend. I am the owner of Audiology Central in Brooklyn, New York. My colleagues are all strong, independent, passionate, funny, lovely, and kind women, who treat every patient like family. I credit the success of my practice to them.

My family was all women and for most of my life it was three generations of women, my grandmother, my mother, and I. They taught me strength, perseverance, optimism, but most of all, kindness, and I carry their legacy in treatment of my patients."

We are proud to have many strong female leaders and role models be part of the journey toward better hearing. Women like Olga help Unitron share better hearing around the world!

Congratulations to BC alumna Amy Bergen as she begins her term as 2022 President of the NYS Speech- Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA)

WELCOME from NYSSLHA PRESIDENT 2022-2023
Amy Bergen. MS, CCC-SLP
I am so honored to begin my term as NYSSLHA President. I look to continue our efforts supporting speech-language and hearing professionals, students, our volunteers, and the individuals and families we serve across New York State. I want to take this opportunity to thank our current NYSSLHA members for your support and commitment to our Association and to our profession. I am grateful for our executive team, and the volunteers who serve on the Board and various committees. They are invaluable in maintaining our organization and advocating for the issues most important to our field.

When I look to the year ahead, I feel a sense of optimism and hope. The new year brings new opportunities for growth. We will strive to meet the diverse needs of the populations we work with, assuring equitable and inclusive practices. As professionals, we will continue to successfully navigate the ever-changing challenges presented by Covid 19. We welcome the return of in-person professional events, such as our Annual Convention taking place in Tarrytown, April 28-30.

I encourage you to consider NYSSLHA your professional home. Take advantage of our resources, professional development, and networking opportunities. Help us expand our membership and foster collaboration and unique partnerships by inviting your friends, colleagues, and university students to participate.
Please reach out and connect with us. Visit nysslha.org for membership and renewal information, to volunteer, reconnect, register for an event, or donate. Let us know what we can do for you.
I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year. I look forward to working with you and hope to see you in Tarrytown!

Warm regards,
Amy
