This week we are highlighting Andrea, who has been with us since 2012. Her knowledge covers all kinds of pets including exotics. These days she spends most of her time behind the scenes assisting with surgery/dental procedures and is one of our go to people for drawing blood. We are so lucky to have her with us!

We want to highlight Colleen, our office manager, vet assistant and laboratory guru! Colleen has been with us since 2011 and wears many hats. She spends many hours each day making sure all our lab samples are processed through our in-house and outside laboratories, maintaining our medication inventory, filling in wherever she is needed. Our clinic is very fortunate to have her keep all of our days running smoothly!

Thinking about adding a new cat to your household?
Introducing a new feline family member can be exciting, and a thoughtful plan helps it go smoothly. Here are tips for a smooth transition:

Take it slow. Introductions can take several weeks.
Let the new cat explore a private space first while your resident cat stays in a familiar area.
Swap toys or bedding so each cat learns the other’s scent.
For the first meeting, choose a neutral area, keep it short, and reward calm behavior with treats.
Increase supervised time together gradually. Watch for signs of fear, anxiety, or stress and pause if you see them.

Every pet adjusts at a different pace. Patience and consistency help both cats feel secure and ready to become friends.
