What is the dirtiest thing that people touch often outside of the home? Sometimes every day…

You won’t believe it….

Your steering wheel! (Second place is shopping cart handles) Wipe them down OFTEN. Staphylococcus can live on these surfaces for months. Let alone the common cold/flu bug.

When in public, wash your hands often and do NOT touch your face!

Guess what the dirtiest thing is inside your home? Not your tooth brush, not the toilet, and not even door handles.

Your sponge!! (Strong second place is your cell phone case!) 🤢

A sponge is wet, and holds bacteria. Gross right? Change it out often but in between it can be cleaned and used.

To kill bacteria on a kitchen sponge, microwave a damp sponge for one minute, boil it for five minutes, or run it through a dishwasher's hot cycle. If it looks funny or smells, it is full of bacteria and must be thrown away!

Fun fact of the day. You should always keep your toilet seat lid down when you flush.

When a toilet is flushed, aerosolized particles can travel up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) high and spread outwards, with smaller particles remaining suspended in the air for minutes or longer. These "toilet plumes" contain microscopic water droplets, urine, f***s, and potentially harmful pathogens that are ejected upwards and backwards from the bowl, contaminating nearby surfaces and increasing the risk of pathogen exposure. Closing the toilet lid before flushing can significantly reduce the spread of these airborne particles.
