This , we’re honored to share Eddie Garcia's journey. After 20 years in the U.S. Army, he faced a new battle: Meniere's disease that brought constant ringing, dizziness, and pressure that made everyday life a struggle.

At Tampa General Hospital, specialized academic care helped him regain stability and strength. And through our partnership with Home Base, offering support for veterans at no cost, Eddie found community, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose. Today, he's giving back by mentoring others and showing what courage looks like long after service. 🇺🇸

On , we pause to honor the courageous individuals who have served in our armed forces and the sacrifices made by them and their families.

Here at TGH, we're especially grateful to the veterans and military team members within our own ranks whose leadership, resilience and commitment inspire us every day. Today and always, we thank our veterans, military team members and their families for all they have given in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Leaders from all across Tampa General Hospital came together for our November Leadership Forum last week, a day dedicated to strengthening relationships, collaboration, and trust throughout our academic health system.

Guided by the AKTiVe leadership model, the conversation centered on building a culture that will outlast us all—one grounded in respect, connection, inclusion, and safety. Special guest Thomas Lee, MD, author of "Social Capital in Healthcare," joined us to discuss how meaningful relationships and social capital amplify patient experience and team engagement. The Press Ganey team expanded on these themes before our executive Q&A, which highlighted how trust between patients and team members goes hand-in-hand with excellence in care.

Together, we’re focused on growing as leaders so we can better serve those who depend on us most: our patients.

One year ago, we proudly opened the doors to the TGH Spring Hill Muma Children’s Hospital Level II NICU—a place built on compassion, expertise, and the unwavering commitment to care for our tiniest patients and their families.

Since that day, our NICU team has:

• Delivered specialized care to newborns in need
• Expanded our team of neonatal experts
• Seamlessly coordinated with TGH’s broader system to ensure every baby receives the right level of care at the right time

Every moment, every milestone, and every life touched is a testament to the heart and dedication of our NICU caregivers. Here’s to another year of growth, healing, and hope.
