✨ Holiday Strategies: Neurodivergent Support Edition - Part 2 🧠

Building on our first set of tips, here are more ways to make the holidays inclusive and joyful for neurodivergent children! 🎄

6️⃣ Respect Routine Needs 🕰️
Maintain as much of your child's regular routine as possible during holiday disruptions. Predictable meal times, sleep schedules, and familiar activities can provide crucial stability.

7️⃣ Offer Choice & Control 🤲
Give children agency in holiday activities. Let them choose their level of participation, outfit, or specific traditions they want to engage with. Autonomy reduces anxiety.

8️⃣ Plan Transition Strategies 🚪
Develop clear exit strategies for events. Have a pre-agreed signal or plan for when a child needs to leave or take a break, reducing potential stress or meltdown moments.

9️⃣ Celebrate Individual Strengths 🌟

🌞 Got a Night Owl? Bedtime Tips for Kids Who Stay Up Late! 🌛
Here are some tips to help your little night owls adjust to a more reasonable bedtime routine🦉➡️🛏️

1. Gradual Adjustments ⏰
• Slowly move bedtime earlier by 15 minutes each night until you reach the desired time.
2. Tech Timeout 📱🚫
• Reduce screen time before bed. Less screen time means better dream time!
