In Chinese Medicine, your immune system is related to your Lungs which is the Yin organ of Autumn. Your skin is also part of this relationship, as is your Wei Qi (way - chee) They are your physical and energetic barriers that protect against bacteria, viruses, and toxic energy.
Autumn brings with it cold and flu season, cooler weather which leads to more time spent indoors, and leads you right into the holiday season, making it the perfect time to bolster your immune system.
This practice also encourages the release of emotions that are held in your lungs and chest area, which when held onto can also weaken your ability to manage exposure to stress, bacteria, viruses, and negative energy.
As you practice,
đ¤Remember you donât have to go up on your toes if your balance is an issue or if you have an ankle or leg injury
đ¤Take a moment to notice how you feel before you begin
đ¤Imagine a beautiful white light coming in to nourish your lungs
đ¤Listen to YOUR body when holding your breath
đ¤Notice how you feel after youâre done
Once is never, as my teacher says. Save this post and practice this throughout the season to see how it goes. Feel free to share comments or questions in the comments below.
