Among all the asks the world is sending you to buy this, rush here, get this done to prepare for the holidays and the end of the year, the true energy of the season is calling you to slow down. Can you feel it?

As you begin the transition from Autumn to Winter, I encourage you to listen deeply to yourself, to hear what your body, mind, and spirit needs to be your best self, and gather the courage to go for it. This practice can help you do just that

Imagine a beautiful white tiger moving through the dark forest, illuminating the way as her glorious fur reflects the light of the stars. Doing so with confidence, integrity, and purpose like the protective huntress that she is. Walking into the unknown to find what will nourish her, knowing she’s not alone for her nose tells her they’re nearby.

This is Po, the spirit associated with the season of Autumn in Chinese medicine. She lives within each one of you, guiding you through each day, helping you tap into your senses and listen to your body to protect your true self with courage.

The tiger qigong form invites you to embody all that your Po spirit has to offer. Using your senses to hear what you need, releasing what’s holding you back through your mighty roar, creating space for the nourishment that you’ll gather, and having the courage to take action.

Use this practice to release the weight of emotions, over stimulation, being overtasked, fatigue, stress, and tension that this time of year often brings. Allow it to bring you back to your embodied self, away from the noise of the outside world.

Practice on your own and feel free to share below or

Join me this Sunday December 7th in qigong class where we’ll gather our courage together in community. Link to sign up is in my bio.

Have the courage to listen to your body and be yourself.

See you soon♥️

Being present and living your life is a continuous act of courage

🤍Choosing to get up out of bed and face what the day has to offer

🤍Taking steps forward when you are unsure or not at your best

🤍Making choices that are best for you despite the opinions or judgments that are swirling around in your head

🤍Trying new things, even though they might push you outside of your comfort zone

🤍Saying No when you mean it and Yes because you want to

🤍Living into your joy & happiness

🤍Walking away, towards growth, even though staying would be easier

🤍Taking the time to respond, instead of react

🤍Staying in bed if rest is what you need

🤍Speaking up for yourself

🤍Taking care of yourself

🤍Being yourself

🤍And yes, if things didn’t go the way you wanted, expected, needed them to, saying to yourself I will try again tomorrow

Courage is the virtue of Autumn, yet it is with you always as you end one day and you begin again in the next.

Take heart and know that you are courageous, no matter what life brings your way.

Share this with a friend who may need it today.

Come move with the energy of courage in Qigong class as we end the season of Autumn and shift Winter. Class is this Sunday Dec 7th and Friday Dec 12th. The link to sign up is below.

Sometimes you just need something easy and accessible to bring you out of your anxious thoughts and feelings, the chaos of your day, or the overwhelm of your emotions. Something that is always with you. This practice is it! It’s literally at your fingertips.

The Okay, or Gyan, mudra employs the Power of Touch, bringing your awareness inside away from what’s going on around you and helps shift your nervous system into a state of calm.

It also brings a sense of clarity and receptiveness by connecting the yin/yang paired meridians of your lungs and large intestine. These organs help you release tension, thoughts, emotions that aren’t helpful to you, filter the lesson they’ve brought you, and hold onto the good that’s come from their presence.

Practice it with me right now to get a sense of the peace it brings, where you feel it within you, and how your senses perceive it. This helps your brain recognize it as a tool and bring it to you in your time of need, without conscious thought.

Use it as an easeful, gentle way to calm yourself or bring clarity in the midst of chaos. A way to help you get back to being You.

Share and save this for your practice and healing tool box.

For more simple, easeful, gentle ways to get back to being you, check out the links in my bio. I offer community based healing in my group classes and one to one sessions.

See you soon♥️

This is a challenging concept, especially when what you’re walking through is uncomfortable. It’s also a life changing mindset shift.

I’m not saying bypass the hurt, pain, discomfort, that is not what I am saying at all.

What I am saying is this, being open to the good in all situations lets in a little bit of light in your dark moments, making it easier to sit with the hard, uncomfortable, unfair etc and work through it, helping you get to the other side of vs. remain stuck there.

It also invites those of you who are your own worst critic to heal that part of you that feels they aren’t enough, are bad, should feel guilty etc. I know from personal experience.

Start small and be gentle with yourself.

I’ve started this with my family at the dinner table, inviting all of us to share 1 positive from our day. Notice I’ve said inviting, not making. If someone can’t come up with something, I let them pass and you know what’s happened? It’s given them the time, space, and grace to share the next time.

If you can’t come up with something that is okay. It’s okay to sit in the “stuff” sometimes because you may need to do that to process it. I’ll encourage you to keep inviting yourself to open up to the possibility that there is something to be thankful for in all things.

What are you grateful? Feel free to share below.

I’m grateful that you’re here and for the opportunity to share the gifts & practices that have helped me heal.

See you soon♥️

The world can be a lonely place, even when you are in a room filled with family, friends, etc. This practice is a wonderful reminder that you are not alone and invites you to connect into the support that is always available to you.

Mother Earth has been holding you from your first day and will continue to until your last. Physically through gravity, food, and the beauty that surrounds you in nature and those that you choose to surround yourself with. Energetically through the calming frequency that her energy provides as well as the nourishment that comes from the physical plane. Spiritually through the connection with your ancestors that are always with you throughout time and space.

Father Sky has been doing the same. Physically through the warmth of the sun, the air you breathe, and the rain that washes over you, hydrates you, and nurtures the land. Energetically through the nutrients that your body converts into fuel from the sun, air, and water. Spiritually through your connection with heaven, the stars, the universe, God, or what/whomever your faith/beliefs that are bigger than you are.

Knowing that you can receive support at any time, unconditionally brings comfort and peace as you walk along your journey. This is a practice that returns your peace and your foundation to you.

I encourage you to practice this when you are at peace so your body gets a sense of what it feels like, helping it create a memory or neural pathway to it so when you need it in unsettled times it will be able to ask for it.

Use it as a moving meditation. A place where you can grow roots down deep, giving you a steady foundation to reach out to your support team and come back home to yourself.

🤍Share and save it for later.

When you are overcome with emotions, it’s hard to know where or how to start working with them. Thinking about them hurts. Talking about them hurts. Feeling them hurts. Gentle movement may be the key that unlocks the door to the process, allowing you to feel the hurt at your own pace through the lens of your body.

Emotions are energy in motion. Energy from your life experiences. They’re meant to come into your awareness, inform you about something, and then move on. When they stay around, they become like the houseguest that’s overstayed their welcome. First, it’s uncomfortable, then agitating, then overwhelming because they just won’t go away.

Here is where this practice is golden. In TCM, the energy of your emotions is associated with an organ and moves along meridians (energy highways) that are within your fascia or connective tissue. Your joints are places where this energy can get stuck (think traffic jams).

These simple movements gently open the joints and encourage the energy/emotions to begin flowing again. Being able to move at your own speed and range of motions allows you to honor where you are in your process.

As you move, your emotions may come into your conscious awareness bringing with them tears, memories, feelings that are ready to be released. Know that your body will only show you what you’re ready for and that working with what arrives will lift some of the discomfort, fatigue, heaviness, mental clutter, heartache, or other feelings you are experiencing.

As you practice, remember…
💕Listen to your body and move at a range and pace that feels good to you
💕Honor where you are in your process
💕That you can set your intention to what you need in the moment: clarity around what you’re feeling, only notice the movement, release something specific, let the tears flow etc

Save and share this practice. Feel free to ask questions below🤍

If you need additional support, I offer one on one sessions for those of you who would like a personalized approach as well as community healing through my qigong classes (next class is This Sunday Nov 16th) Links to both are in my bio🫶🏼

Love is, and always will be, with you. Grief is one of those human experiences that reminds us of that. It’s a part of transformation and growth that calls us to honor past and present:
🤍Relationships
🤍Identities
🤍Habits, patterns, survival modes
Jobs
🤍Places or homes
🤍Parts of ourselves
🤍Ancestors and family members

Among other things that are no longer with you in this physical realm or that you have let go of, but have made an impact on your heart, on who you are at your core. Leaving you with the deeply embodied visceral pain of grief.

As you sort through it all, the emotions, tears, heaviness, fatigue, pain, something beautiful begins to happen.

Little gems appear🤍

A warm memory that helps you get out of bed. Lyrics to a song that makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Familiar smells inspire you to eat something nourishing. A hug from a loved one, friend, or pet lightens your load a bit. The warm sun on your face spreads throughout you, opening your heart just a little. You see a sign that inspires creativity within your day or brings a smile to your face.

Reminding you that love is not lost, it has been and always will be with you♥️

Giving you the energy to continue grieving, healing, growing, and be present with what is here within and for you.

Grief is proof that Love exists. Love for you, around you, beyond you, and within you.

Join me in my qigong class this Sunday November 16th where we’ll work with the energy of grief, letting go, love, holding on, and having the courage to move through it all. Link is in my Bio.

I have been using this practice on walks in the evening among the beauty of the changing leaves, super moon, and crisp fall air. It truly is a simple yet powerful tool to help you with your emotions.

This area of your chest is called your middle dantian in Chinese medicine. It is also home to your heart and lungs, the organs that help you alchemize the qi/energy of your emotions.

When you experience change, it is often accompanied by some sort of loss and with that loss, grief, sadness, anxiety, and depressions. These also happen to be the emotions associated with the lungs and heart.

They may arrive as a heaviness in your chest, inability to breathe, the loss of words to express, intense fatigue, the desire to be alone or turn inward, tears, heartache, or a feeling of disconnection from self and others (as a few examples)

This practice is a gentle invitation to connect with yourself as you massage CV 17 and place your hands over your heart. To, at the least, hold yourself and simply be with what arises. You can start and stay here, with this part of the practice, if the rest seems like too much.

Next, it encourages the release of any stagnant qi or emotions as your breath moves through your heart window and door like a gentle autumn breeze.

When you are ready to close the door, it gives you the chance to welcome in what you need in this space to facilitate healing and it just might be that ~ space.

🤍Try it out ~ sitting, standing, walking, or even lying down. I also like to do it at night before bed or if I happen to wake with thoughts and feelings whirring. Share your experiences or questions below.

🤍Save it for another time when you need it and share it with a friend.

🤍If extra support is what you discover you need, join me in qigong class Nov 16th, Dec 7th, and 12th or for a one on one session and I’ll walk beside you through the change.

Change is hard. Tapping into the courage, compassion, and wisdom of your body will help you move through it🤍

In Chinese Medicine, your immune system is related to your Lungs which is the Yin organ of Autumn. Your skin is also part of this relationship, as is your Wei Qi (way - chee) They are your physical and energetic barriers that protect against bacteria, viruses, and toxic energy.

Autumn brings with it cold and flu season, cooler weather which leads to more time spent indoors, and leads you right into the holiday season, making it the perfect time to bolster your immune system.

This practice also encourages the release of emotions that are held in your lungs and chest area, which when held onto can also weaken your ability to manage exposure to stress, bacteria, viruses, and negative energy.

As you practice,
🤍Remember you don’t have to go up on your toes if your balance is an issue or if you have an ankle or leg injury
🤍Take a moment to notice how you feel before you begin
🤍Imagine a beautiful white light coming in to nourish your lungs
🤍Listen to YOUR body when holding your breath
🤍Notice how you feel after you’re done

Once is never, as my teacher says. Save this post and practice this throughout the season to see how it goes. Feel free to share comments or questions in the comments below.

Come join me in class this Sunday November 2nd and November 15th! We’ll boost our immune systems and get to know our lungs, as in community all things are more potent and fun too. Link is in my bio✨
