In Chinese Medicine, your immune system is related to your Lungs which is the Yin organ of Autumn. Your skin is also part of this relationship, as is your Wei Qi (way - chee) They are your physical and energetic barriers that protect against bacteria, viruses, and toxic energy.

Autumn brings with it cold and flu season, cooler weather which leads to more time spent indoors, and leads you right into the holiday season, making it the perfect time to bolster your immune system.

This practice also encourages the release of emotions that are held in your lungs and chest area, which when held onto can also weaken your ability to manage exposure to stress, bacteria, viruses, and negative energy.

As you practice,
🤍Remember you don’t have to go up on your toes if your balance is an issue or if you have an ankle or leg injury
🤍Take a moment to notice how you feel before you begin
🤍Imagine a beautiful white light coming in to nourish your lungs
🤍Listen to YOUR body when holding your breath
🤍Notice how you feel after you’re done

I love doing this when I go to bed at night. Intentionally, letting my head rest down into my pillow and my body into my mattress, and then breathing into each area, inviting in a softness throughout my body that helps me drift off to sleep.

🤍Feeling into the surface you’re resting on gives you a safe place to land and a grounded foundation to start from.

🤍Bringing your awareness to your body allows the thoughts to float away.

🤍Your breath* tells your nervous system it’s okay to slow down and relax.

🤍As you release the tension, it unclenches the clench in your body restores fluid, energy, and blood flow, which deepens and enhances your relaxation response.
*If focusing on breath is uncomfortable you can simply bring your attention to the areas mentioned and visualize the tension melting or draining away without the breathing.

You can also practice this when you start to feel tension or emotions rising up, to reduce pain, or simply throughout your day as a brain break or check in.

As a parent, the moment your child is born, you begin letting go. It starts with the small moments when you let someone else hold them, feed them, and watch over them.

As they grow, the moments get bigger. First day of day care or school. First playdate at a friend’s house. First sleepover. Walking to school on their own. Driving a car. And before you know it they’re at college.

The same can be said for anything you love. A creative idea you’ve put into the world. A seed you’ve planted. A parent, family member, or dear friend. A beloved pet.

Even a past or current version of yourself.

Letting go isn’t giving up or walking away. It certainly isn’t the easy way out.

Letting go is realizing that life is a precious gift. One that is ever changing as you and those around you become who you’re/they’re meant to be. In order for that to happen, you need to be able to let go.

To hold onto what is essential, memories, connections, life lessons, etc, that will nurture and sustain you, and release the rest so you (or they) can become who you are meant to be.

Letting Go is a Courageous Act of Unconditional Love♥️

May you always find the strength to seek the courage within you to practice unconditional love for you and others as you become your true self🤍

Carrying around tension from our daily lives, consciously or subconsciously, builds up under the surface over time, creating blocks in your energy flow, fluid flow, emotional capacity, and physical body. When those blocks become “too much” for your system, it shuts down, blows up, or takes you down. If you’ve ever had a toddler-like temper tantrum, tears show up “out of nowhere”, or gotten sick or hurt “without warning”, you’ve experienced this.

That is where Wu Wei comes in. It’s a beautiful tenet in Chinese Medicine that reminds you to unclench the clench.

There are simple things you can do throughout your day/week/etc that can help you release the tension in little bits. Wu Wei is one of them.

Here’s how it works: Anytime throughout the day,
🤍Pause and bring your awareness to yourself.
🤍Notice if there is any emotional, physical, mental (thoughts) or other tension present.
🤍Give yourself permission to release any part of the tension that you are able/ready to through an exhale or allowing it to wash down your body like water or shake it off (literally) or melt away from your body into the earth
🤍Take another moment to notice how you feel within after
🤍Repeat anytime you feel slow, fatigued, are overthinking, stuck, angry etc

You aren’t meant to carry all of your experiences or the energy of others with you.
Wu wei that burden down and get back to being You.

Rest isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. It’s something you need everyday, yet often put off because it’s viewed as sleep, something you don’t have time for, or maybe even something that makes you weak.

All not true. It’s essential for you to continue to be you.

Even I struggle with this and having cov*d for the past 2 weeks was a hard reminder of where I am with it and where I want and need to be.

Rest can be lots of things. Simple things like
Walking away from a screen or changing activities
Getting outside
Reading a book
Calling/texting a friend
Taking a walk
Taking a breath (or a couple:)
Putting a thought/project/story/emotion/etc down for a moment (or a however long you need to)
Exercising
Going for a drive….. Anything that separates you from what you were doing and the next thing AND nourishes or reenergizes you.

Rest creates space, clears out clutter, creates mental clarity, releases tension, boosts your immune system, helps you heal, renews your energy and so much more all to help you get back to Being You so you can do what you want and need to do.

Did you know that Tarot started out as a game in 15th century Italy?? It then morphed into a way to find tangible connection to faith, spirit, nature just like wearing your favorite cross, a shirt with a sunflower on it, looking for signs, holding onto a sentimental object, or getting a tattoo that has a personal meaning.

The only “Woo” about it is the intuitive guidance within you. That inner voice that whispers to you “I’d think twice about that…” when you’re about to juggle your phone, a glass of water, and the laundry basket down the stairs or “Yes go for it!” when you’re unsure of a choice and it’s for you.

That voice that we’re not trained or taught to avoid listening to and is literally there for YOU. To help guide you towards the path that is YOURS and help you make sense of all of the information out there so you can truly know what’s true for you as a unique and beautiful individual.

Tarot is simply one way that you can learn to get in touch with it and it’s fun too! I’ll admit, sometimes the messages aren’t always what you want to hear, but they’re always what you need to hear for your highest good.
