This month, the Port of Call is Lima, Peru! Lima is a longstanding, historic city rich in culture and attractions for tourists to see. Founded on January 18, 1535, by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, Lima was given the nickname “The City of Kings” because the discovery date was close to the Epiphany, a popular Christian festival. Today, Lima is home to over 8 million people, and hosts a blend of cultural and architectural influences from the different civilizations over the years.

This week, we had a great day of learning and growth at the Pennsylvania regional social work meeting! Social Workers connected with team members and gained valuable insight from amazing guest speakers. We were thankful for the opportunity to grow together and strengthen our impact. Shout out to Broad Mountain for hosting the meeting.

Also a special thank you to three social workers: Bethany Barrientos from Broomall Manor, Tracy Krah from Green Ridge and Christopher Hess from Slate Belt, who received an IMPACT award for their continued commitment to helping their peers via the mentorship program and social service council.
