We got to visit this lovely place a couple weeks ago and we adored it so much. Please consider a donation.
Tomorrow is and we are so grateful to everyone who has already scheduled their gift to us.
This year has been so hard, and I know, I know….I feel like a broken record saying it. We’ve watched countless sanctuaries shut down and we’ve seen twice as many surrender requests and hoarding cases than any year before. Running a sanctuary isn’t ever easy. Closing a dairy business I had worked my whole life toward to follow what I knew was right wasn’t easy, at least not logistically. The pandemic wasn’t easy. But this year has been something different entirely. Did we have some major good things happen? Yes. Of course. But ultimately I’ve spent a lot of time being tired and scared and thoroughly tired of being scared. Inflation and the economy has hit us like a ton of bricks, or more like a lake of tar, sticky, unavoidable and exhausting.
This photo reminds me of exactly what the mission is and why we have to stay the course, no matter what. We want to help animals. We want to help humans. We will keep doing exactly this the best way we know how, with every ounce of gumption we can muster.
Please consider us on Colorado Gives Day tomorrow, and help us make sure that we can continue to infuse so many lives with happiness and meaning.
