Help provide face shields to the Colorado front line heroes who need them
Over 100 face shields have been purchased so far on behalf of CU Anschutz Medical Campus and Lafayette Fire Department, but we're just getting started.
TotalCare has joined a partnership to design and manufacture a reusable face shield for frontline health organizations and first responders that are in need of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The need for good face shields is everywhere, but especially acute for smaller and rural organizations that have to compete for resources with much larger entities, including the federal government as it builds its stockpile.
Unfortunately, many front line health workers and first responders either do not have face shields or they are using, and re-using, flimsy disposable shields.
An effective face shield should be durable, reusable, cleanable, and a part of everyday gear. And we believe every front line hero should have one.
But right now, good reusable face shields are difficult for many organizations to acquire; either because they are unavailable, because they don't have funding to buy them, or both.
To address the funding issue, we have set up a online system by which people who want to help can easily buy face shields and donate them to an organization of their choice.
