Not because it doesn’t work.

Because they’re scared.
And honestly? That fear makes sense when:
– There has been a black box warning
– Cancer risk is misunderstood
– Even providers feel unsure
But here’s what the evidence tells us:
Low-dose vaginal estrogen is not the same as systemic estrogen.
Systemic absorption is minimal.
And major organizations like the North American Menopause Society support its use—even in select breast cancer survivors—when symptoms are impacting quality of life.
We are withholding effective treatment from women because of outdated messaging and lack of education.
And that has to change.
