Blackfeet Tribal Behavioral Health – Semicolon Project Art Contest 🎨

Blackfeet Tribal Behavioral Health is inviting our community to take part in the Semicolon Project Art Contest, an initiative centered around hope, healing, and the power of continuing our story.

The semicolon symbol ( ; ) represents a moment where someone could have ended their story—but chose to keep going. It has become a powerful symbol in the conversation around mental health, resilience, and su***de prevention.

Through this art contest, we hope to:
• Reduce the stigma around mental health
• Encourage open conversations about struggles and healing
• Promote creativity as a form of healing
• Connect our community to important support resources

How to participate:
Create artwork inspired by the semicolon symbol and what it represents to you. Your piece can tell a story of strength, hope, survival, or encouragement for others.

🏆 Prizes will be awarded for:
🥇 1st Place
🥈 2nd Place
🥉 3rd Place

📅 Deadline: March 31st

To submit:
Tag Blackfeet Tribal Behavioral Health in your artwork on social media or email it to
k.mcclure@blackfeetnation.com

This project reminds us that your story matters, your voice matters, and your art can inspire hope in someone who may be struggling.

If you or someone you know needs support, remember help is available through our local office and the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988 anytime.

Let’s come together as a community to create, heal, and support one another. ❤️

On Thursday we had the opportunity to visit Mr. DeRoche’s high school health class alongside the Culture & Hope Program to lead a powerful “Your Story Isn’t Over” semicolon canvas project.

Students created personal artwork centered around hope, resilience, and the reminder that hard moments are pauses; not endings. The semicolon represents choosing to continue your story, even when things feel heavy.

We talked about not giving up, what keeps us grounded, and the dreams we’re still working toward. It was inspiring to see the creativity, honesty, and strength in each canvas.

Thank you to Mr. DeRoche and his students for welcoming us into your classroom and for being willing to reflect, share, and create. 💛
