Our dad was a true family man who cherished time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. After a long career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, he embraced retirement by spending time with those he loved most. He enjoyed going out to Livermore to fence and spend time with his horses, attending powwows, being an active member of Pikuni Society, and most of all, spending time with his grandkids.

Sam was a proud Air Force veteran who supported his children and grandchildren in everything they pursued. He especially loved family gatherings, setting up camp at powwows, and organizing the Pikuni Powwow for Thanksgiving.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our family during this great loss. Dad, you are loved and will be deeply missed, but we know you are with us always. Until we meet again, we love you.

Frances Marie Loring

Frances (Francy) Marie Connelly Lukin Loring (Star Woman) came into the world on July 29th, 1940 at the Browning IHS Hospital on the Blackfeet Reservation and left this world on February 14th, 2026 in the same hospital. She passed from complications of lung cancer after a 15 month battle. The last year of her life was spent in celebrations with her family. Francy was the oldest child of Nora & Albert Lukin. Her siblings included Charles (Brother) Lukin, Mary Lynn Lukin and Helen Lukin Stiner. She also was the oldest Grandchild of her grandparents Brian Francis Connelly and Ida Johnson Connelly. She was raised in Browning in a 1 bedroom home that also included her Uncle Bud Connelly when he was in school. Since her and her Uncle Bud were close in age they actually were like a brother and sister. She attended school in Browning most of her life, but also went to Gt. Falls Catholic School her sophomore and junior year. She returned home her senior year to graduate in 1958 from Browning High School. A few weeks after her graduation she married the love of her life Denny Loring on June 7th,1958 in the Little Flower Parish in Browning at the age of 17. Their dream life quickly became reality jumping into the hard work of a hay farm and ranch on Seville Flats. They also took in 2 foster children the 1st summer of their young marriage.

They became parents within a year of their marriage when their 1st child was born, Douglas Loring (Betsy) was born April 1, 1959. Michael Loring (Krystal) joined the family in 1961 and Theresa (Teri) (Dennis Dahle) in 1962. They thought their family was complete but Francy and Denny opened their doors to many kids over the years that included Greg Upham, Mark Bird, Oozer Bird, Glen Moran, Pat Thomas, Oyts Harrison,& John Matlack. Those boys were treated the same as their kids and she also became a 2nd mom to many rodeo kids including Dee Dee Bird.

In 1978, they became grandparents to Averi Loring (Arvie Magnuson). This started a new era in their life, being the best grandparents to all their grandchildren- Dustin Peres (Ashley), Katelin Loring (Nolan Conway), Beverly Loring (Izzy Bos), Jace Loring (Johnalee), Wacey Real Bird, Jimi Lee Dezort, Stephanie Scott, Elijah Greene, James Greene, Iris Loring & Tristan Lozing. The next level of joy was becoming Great Grandparents to Danny Grisom, Mason Grisom, Biz Bos, Lucia Real Bird, Jhett Real Bird, Lemon Magnuson, Addison Conway, Nora Magnuson, Deni Dee Conway, Finley Peres, Rhett Peres, Lilyth Bos, Barrett Bos, & the newest angel to join the family Michael Loring. Francy also was an extra Grandma to all of her grandchildren's friends. Many called her Grandma including Craig Harry, Mecca & Kaden Kipp, Brin Tatsey, Stockton & Sampson Bird to name a few.

Francy comes from a huge family with many cousins on both the Lukin and Connelly side. She was a special Aunt to Zane Stiner (Tasha), Kim Stiner, Mary Beth Lukin (Bill Edens), Darcy Lukin, Alan Lukin, Jesse Lukin, Wayne Hibbs (Charlotta), Megan Upham (Brett Duvall), Matt Upham (Jenna) and Great Aunt to Spencer Czech, Noah Czech, Kayden Hall, Tyrell Hall, Kenzie & Kodi Stiner, Cody Edens,& Aaron Edens

Francy had a special & unique relationships with all of her in-law-s who became family; Donna Lukin, Chic Upham, Tana Loring (Scott Curry), Karen Upham, Melanie Solberg, Kelli Gustafson,

Stormy Jeffers, Jackie & Steve Conway, Sissy Sinclair, Junie Fredericks, Donna Merle Magnum, Murray Harwood, Little Bill Loring, Mimi Loring, & Jackie Loring.

Francy was preceded in death by the love of her life Denny in 2013. Her heart was broken but heaven kept sending grandchildren to heal her broken heart. Her parents Albert & Nora Lukin who she was blessed to spend many years sharing the raising of her family. It was really special that she was able to celebrate her Mom's 100th birthday. Her baby angel in heaven, Dennis Michael Loring. Her brother Charles Lukin and special brother-in-laws Don Stiner & Ronnie Glidden. She was preceded in death by all her Uncles and Aunts including her uncle/brother Bud Connelly. Her mother-in-law Bev Swingley Loring who was influential in how she treated people with care, love, and laughter in the short time they had together.

Denny & Francy were reunited in heaven on Valentine's Day, we are sure they are dancing, laughing, joking, & loving life, just like they did in real life. They shared their love to many and showed how to love to many. Please accept our apologies if we have left anyone out.

Edward Emil Arcand

Edward Emil Arcand Jr., lovingly known as "Beaver," passed away on January 31, 2026. He spent his final days at home with his wife Pastel until his health began to fail. He then moved into Benefits Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana, where he bravely fought his final battle with his loving family by his side.
Beaver was born on October 13, 1959, in Browning, Montana to Karen Evon Arcand and Edward "Punny" Arcand. He was raised in the communities of Browning and Babb, where he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for helping others.
In 1983, Beaver met his first wife, Cathy RunningFisher, in Browning. Together they had five children: Bunny, Eddie, Mary, Johnny, and Tiffany. Though they later divorced in 2001, he remained devoted to his children. In 2017, he met his beloved wife, Pastel Peterson, and they made their home in Babb and Great Falls.
Beaver attended school in Babb and Browning and graduated from Blackfeet Community College in June 1997. He was a very skilled carpenter for most of his career and completed Highway Construction training at SKC in 2006, specializing as a Finish Grader Operator. Truly a man of all trades, Beaver could fix just about anything.
He was known for his kind heart and generous spirit-the type of person always willing to lend a hand. He was a wonderful friend to many and will be deeply missed.
Beaver was preceded in death by his parents, Karen and Edward "Punny" Arcand; his son, Johnny Arcand; and his brother, Ricky John Arcand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pastel Peterson; his children, Bunny (Derek) Arcand-Kline, Eddie (Stephanie) Arcand III, Mary Arcand, and Tiffany (Oshon) Arcand-Old Elk; his brother, Kenneth Shane Arcand; his sister, Misty Arcand; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
