Leroy came to Community West after experiencing a stroke, which left him needing moderate to maximal assistance with walking, bathing, and dressing. Despite the challenges, Leroy has shown tremendous motivation and determination in his recovery — all with the goal of returning home and getting back to the classroom as a dedicated teacher.

Last week, Leroy joined a group activity to paint pumpkins. Using his right hand — the one affected by his stroke — he carefully crafted a creative design. His hard work paid off: Leroy’s pumpkin won first place in a hospital-wide vote during our annual Pumpkin Painting Contest! 🎃🏆

Leroy, we are so proud of your incredible progress and the positive energy you bring to your recovery. Your strength, spirit, and dedication are truly inspiring. Keep going — we’re cheering you on every step of the way!
