Please join us in celebrating our Patient of the Month and Limb Loss Awareness Month representative, John Grygiel!

John came to Community Rehabilitation Hospital West for therapy following a recent above-knee amputation on his left leg. Having previously experienced a below-knee amputation on his right leg nearly 10 years ago, John was already familiar with life using a prosthesis—and he brought that knowledge, along with determination, into his recovery journey.

When John first arrived, he required assistance with transfers, mobility, and getting out of bed. Through hard work and dedication, he has made incredible progress—building endurance, increasing strength and range of motion, and gaining greater independence with wheelchair mobility as he prepares for his next prosthesis.

Beyond his progress, John has been a source of positivity and encouragement to both staff and fellow patients, making a lasting impression on everyone he meets.

Today, John is ready to return home with confidence and continue his journey toward success.
