Sitting at your desk, bending over your phone, or staying in one position for too long might be quietly putting stress on your spine.

βœ… Here's a quick reset you can do RIGHT NOW:

1. Sit up tall - shoulders back, feet flat
2 Rotate your neck gently to either side
3. Roll your shoulders back and down 5 times

These little breaks throughout the day can really help limit tension that accumulates. Now, do you want the hack? πŸ’―

SIT LESS!!

Get up and move every 30 minutes. A quick walk, jumping jacks, air squats, whatever you can manage. I keep a kettlebell by my desk where I can punch out a quick set of 10 whenever I think about it. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

Decrease time sitting AND strengthen muscles! πŸ’ͺπŸ’₯

Dr. J here. I'm frequently asked why I chose chiropractic, so here's the answer.

I began to realize the dominant healthcare approach to most issues was drugs and surgery, specifically, hip and knee replacements. The approach was to just wait until it was bad enough and replace it. I remember asking what could be done to prevent the need to replace joints in the first place. CricketsπŸ¦—

So, I started searching for an approach that was proactive. One that would treat the body as a whole, that would encourage personal responsibility for one's health over being a victim of bad timing or luck.

Now, almost 20 years later, being able to not only help people but to empower them to control their own health outcomes is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
