October of 2014 was one of the most powerful days of my life.

I spent the day with 200 people at a Compassion Training with the Dali Lama. The Dali Lama reminds us that the purpose of life is to be happy!

We meditated in silence for about 2 hours before he stepped onto the stage. At first he looked older but when he laughed his childlike smile and warm giggle lit up the hearts to everyone in the room.

His message was simple, "live happy and spread compassion"

Together we chanted
"gate, gate para sam gate" which means:
"Empty, empty, empty my heart so I may shine, gone, gone, gone is my material self - I have awakened"

It purifies the heart and calms the mind to find inner stillness and radiant peace. Since that day whenever I listen to those words it purifies my heart and brings me hope.
