Flu activity remains at record-high levels—are you protected? 🦠

This year’s hard-hitting flu season continues to make headlines across the country. In early January the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shared that more than 19 million cases, 250,000 hospitalizations and 10,000 deaths have been reported since October 2025. Our health care professionals encourage everyone to get the flu vaccine and protect themselves from the spread of the virus.

“Some years the vaccine matches the variant better than other years,” says Steven F. Mosher, MD, board-certified physician with Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Infectious Disease. “However, despite this year’s vaccine not being a perfect match…data shows that those who are vaccinated experience lower risks of severe complications from the flu, including hospitalization and death.”
