✨ Let’s Talk About: Nail Biting Habits ✨

Roughly half of children bite their fingernails. In fact, this habit is so common that it might seem small.

But did you know that nail biting can actually lead to a few problems for the growing grins in your family?

Tooth Damage: Nail biting can cause teeth to chip and gradually wear down the enamel, the protective outer layer of our teeth.

Misalignment: Frequent nail biting can put pressure on teeth and may cause them to shift over time.

Germs in the Mouth: Fingernails carry germs, and putting them in the mouth can sometimes make kids feel ill.

Gently reminding little ones to keep fingers out of their mouth can make a big difference in keeping smiles sparkling and strong. 🦷✨😁

Our Surfside Kids offices will be closed on November 27-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

We know switching out of the school routine can make it tricky to keep up healthy habits, especially with all the delicious Thanksgiving treats around! (Hello, pecan pie! 🤤)

Remind your little ones that it’s okay to eat some sweets, but don’t forget to brush your teeth!

Here are few kid-friendly tips to keep those smiles happy and healthy! 👇

⏰ Keep a brushing routine morning and night, even on vacation days.

💧 Drink water after treats — water naturally helps wash away sugars and keeps mouths fresher.

🎶 Make brushing fun with their favorite holiday song or a 2-minute timer.

😁 Don’t forget to floss! Sugar loves hiding between teeth.
