The importance of connections and good relationships can never be overestimated, especially during these trying times. Stay connected, reach out to those you love, or even just like, and hopefully, they will do the same to you. Let's all work together to keep our communities safe so we can re-open the doors, re-open the community centers, the coffee shops, the libraries, etc to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone. We need to do this for our mental and as well as physical health. www.lifecyclewomenshealth.com

Unfortunately, society considers elder s*xuality as either taboo, creepy, or impossible which exemplifies how people are dehumanized as they age. Intimacy is a vital part of life during the entire lifespan and health care providers must have the skills to support s*xual health for all. This means helping people learn to expand their definitions and ideas about s*x. Unfortunately, s*xuality is not part of most medical or psychological training programs. I feel so grateful to have this training and the ability to promote s*xuality as a basic human right. Great article. S*x can drop off in our final decades. But for those who keep going, it can be the best of their lives.

Welcome to Lifecycle Women’s Health

All the people out there who know me well understand I have been on a quest over the last few years, if not my entire career, to find a way I can practice midwifery in the way I feel people deserve: affordable, not rushed, equitable, sensitive and based on evidence and good common sense. I have been given an opportunity to make my dream a reality! I am starting a practice that will use the midwifery model of care (nurturing, judicious use of intervention, empowering) to promote well body care and positive s*xual health. I will be working at the Big White Barn in rural Readfield, Maine, joining other holistic providers who specialize in Family Practice, therapy, body work, yoga and many others, to share my expertise in women’s health care. I will be taking some commercial insurances as well as Medicaid and Medicare, and will accept self-pay as well. I hope to be opening up for business in the end of October. So tell your friends and family, or drop by yourself. And in the meantime let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you! xo Susan
