The residents had a special activity time on Saturday when Cub Scouts, Ethan and Blake, from Pack 224, came to play Bingo with them. Ethan is the son of Justin and Carrie Branch. Carrie is our HR/Financial Director and knows how much our residents love for children to visit and interact with them. If you have a children’s group who is interested in getting involved with seniors, call us at 912-265-6771. We would love to have them visit!

Many thanks to the Georgia Power Ambassadors for bringing us Christmas joy! First, they decorated our resident’s room doors then sang Christmas songs to the residents. They were so much fun and all had a great time!

Heartbreaking news out of Jesup Georgia.

The Jones Kitchen we all love is at minimum changing ownership.

The restaurant has released the following statement.

After a great deal of thought, our family has decided to sell our restaurant. This place has been so much more than a business to us—it has been a second home, filled with familiar faces, shared stories, and countless memories we will always hold close to our hearts.

We have watched families grow, celebrated milestones with you, and shared meals that turned strangers into friends. Your support has meant everything to us, and we are truly grateful for the love and kindness you’ve shown our family over the years.

While it is bittersweet to step away, we leave with full hearts, knowing the restaurant will continue on in the hands of new owners who will bring their own energy and care to this community.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for allowing us to be a part of your lives. We will cherish these memories forever.

We absolutely hate the idea of this icon changing but the new owners promised to stand by its roots with the following statement.

Thanksgiving is always the time of year that you count your blessings and this year, we have another thing to be extremely thankful for.

If you’ve witnessed me (or Brooks) acting slightly crazy, scatterbrained, or running around like a chicken with their head cut off since, oh I’d say, May…now you know why 😝

To be honest, Jones Kitchen has been a staple in Jesup for longer than Brooks and I have known each other. Which is saying a lot since he’s held my heart for nearly 25 years! It’s a place you model business practices after because The Brown’s have ran it so well. We are absolutely honored that they are passing the torch to us. We know that filling their shoes will be impossible- it’s hard to beat perfection, after all. However, we are going to do our best to deliver the same service and quality they have. Our hopes are to not change a thing, so you’ll have no idea it changed ownership. But it has! To say we are excited is an understatement!

For as long as I can remember, Jones’ has been Brooks’ favorite place to eat. Coincidentally, it was his dad’s favorite place as well. I just know he would be so dang proud of Brooks and everything he is doing. I sincerely wish he was here with us to share in our joy.

My parents taught me everything I know about the restaurant business. Most of you probably remember fondly how well they ran McDonald’s. I still have people who stop me in town to reminisce about my Daddy and how well he treated them. You are all right, he was made of pure gold. I’d like to think he too would be proud of what we are doing. We will strive to be a fraction of the great business owners he and my mother were. Mom, I can’t quite put into words just how special you are. Maybe one day my words won’t fail me. It’s true that Daddy was a wonderful man, but you, you hang the moon. I hope we make you proud!

I could go on and on. And honestly, I hope I get the opportunity to talk and fellowship with you all when you come and share a table with us each week. Brooks and I cannot wait to see you all! I may need you to pinch me from time to time, because this all just doesn’t seem real. If we could ask for one thing, it’s your patience over the next few weeks. We won’t always get it right, but hopefully you’ll give us grace while we continue to try!

Brooks, you did it. YOU made this all happen. I am constantly in awe of the person you are. You have built the life that we talked about as teenagers. There is something about you grabbing my hand to lead me to our next adventure that I can’t get enough of. Keep taking my hand, I’ll follow you anywhere! There is so much I want to say, but you know my heart. I love you, most ardently.

Alyssa, Morgan, and Presley-
While momma and daddy have always had big dreams, you girls are the WHY behind everything we do. There will be long days and hard weeks ahead of us, but I hope you guys see that as long as we have each other, that’s all we need. If you only learn one thing from us, I hope it’s to never stop working towards your goals, no matter how insurmountable they seem. You have the power to be and do whatever you dream of! We love you immensely ♥️

Ms Carol, Mr James, Kristi, and Candice, I promise we will take good care of what you built. We will cherish it forever. Thank you for entrusting in us. We won’t let you down!
