Today is World Health Day and it's also the start of National Public Health Week.

It’s a reminder that health doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s shaped by access, community, and the systems that support people every day. Oasis Free Clinics is proud to be part of that work by caring for our neighbors and helping make health more accessible for all.

Because strong communities start with accessible care.

Happy National Public Health Week 💙

This week is a chance to celebrate the care that surrounds us every day—the neighbors, providers, volunteers, and community partners who make it possible for people in our community to stay healthy and feel supported.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

April is National Stress Awareness Month, a gentle reminder to check in with yourself.

Life gets busy, and stress can build up before we even notice it. Sometimes it’s the small things, like getting outside, taking a deep breath, or talking to someone you trust, that help you reset.

Women have always played a powerful role in caring for the health of our communities, even when their work wasn’t always recognized.

Today, women make up around 70% of the global health workforce and 90% of frontline health workers, leading research, shaping policy, and providing care that saves lives every day.

This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the women who have helped shape public health—past and present—and the countless women continuing that work in clinics, communities, and public health organizations around the world.

📖 Read more about the trailblazing women who have transformed public health:

Women have long been integral to public health—though they haven’t always received recognition for their work. Today, they comprise 70% of the global health workforce. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating some of the women that have made the field of public health what it is ...

We’re excited to welcome Danny Muller as the new Executive Director of Oasis Free Clinics!

Danny brings nearly three decades of nonprofit leadership experience across humanitarian aid, public health, and immigrant justice—both in the U.S. and around the world. Most recently, he served as Acting Director and Director of Finance & Administration at the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, helping strengthen services for immigrant communities in southern Maine.

Throughout his career, Danny has led impactful work supporting hospitals, emergency response efforts, and community-based initiatives, always with a focus on access, dignity, and care.

Now, he’s bringing that same passion to Oasis. We’re honored to have him lead our team and continue advancing our mission.

Join us in welcoming Danny to the Oasis community! 💙

Good oral health is an important part of overall health. One simple habit that can make a big difference: brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day, and don’t forget to floss. Small daily steps help protect your smile and your health.

We’re proud to provide dental care to neighbors in our community who might otherwise go without. Healthy smiles help people feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.

Our Story

Oasis Free Clinics is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) tax-exempt corporation established in 1995. Since then, Oasis has become an integral part of the health care safety net in southern Midcoast Maine and the only clinic that exists solely to provide free medical, dental, and prescription assistance in the Greater-Brunswick area. For 25 years, we have provided free health care and dental services to people who cannot afford to pay for care and who have no insurance. A team of dedicated volunteer physicians, dentists, mental health professionals, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and members of the community join our small staff to care for our patients. Oasis succeeds because of our many volunteers who generously donate their time and talents.

At Oasis Free Clinics, our mission is to take care of our neighbors in need by providing medical and dental services as well as connections to community resources.

Our vision is to have a thriving community that cares for all its members in their times of need.

We believe it can happen. Will you join us?
