Women have always played a powerful role in caring for the health of our communities, even when their work wasn’t always recognized.

Today, women make up around 70% of the global health workforce and 90% of frontline health workers, leading research, shaping policy, and providing care that saves lives every day.

This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the women who have helped shape public health—past and present—and the countless women continuing that work in clinics, communities, and public health organizations around the world.

We’re excited to welcome Danny Muller as the new Executive Director of Oasis Free Clinics!

Danny brings nearly three decades of nonprofit leadership experience across humanitarian aid, public health, and immigrant justice—both in the U.S. and around the world. Most recently, he served as Acting Director and Director of Finance & Administration at the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, helping strengthen services for immigrant communities in southern Maine.

Throughout his career, Danny has led impactful work supporting hospitals, emergency response efforts, and community-based initiatives, always with a focus on access, dignity, and care.

Now, he’s bringing that same passion to Oasis. We’re honored to have him lead our team and continue advancing our mission.

Today is World Optometry Day 👓

Being able to see clearly shapes so many everyday moments — reading a book, recognizing a friend across the street, watching the seasons change around us.

Vision care is one more way our community comes together to care for one another. Thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, and partners, neighbors who might otherwise go without can receive the eye care they need.
