Oasis Free Clinics: Nonprofit, no cost primary care & dental clinic for uninsured Midcoast,ME adults.

Oasis Free Clinics is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) tax-exempt corporation, established in 1995. Since then, Oasis has become an integral part of the health care safety net in southern Midcoast Maine and the only clinic that exists solely to provide free medical, dental and prescription assistance in southern Midcoast Maine. For over a decade, we have been providing health care and dental services at no charge to people who cannot afford to pay for care and who have no insurance. A team of dedicated volunteer physicians, dentists, mental health professionals, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and members of the community staff our clinics. Oasis succeeds because of our many volunteers who generously donate their time and talents.

For 30 years, Oasis Free Clinics has been a place where neighbors care for neighbors.

What began as a small volunteer-run clinic offering free care one evening a week has grown into a vital part of the Midcoast community—providing medical, dental, vision, and mental health services to those who need it most. Last year alone, Oasis provided more than 2,500 medical and dental appointments, helping people manage chronic conditions, care for their health, and move forward with dignity.

In this reflection, Oasis board member Ron Lessard shares how the clinic began, how it has grown, and why this work continues to matter for our community.

Happy National Dentist Day! Today we’re celebrating Dr. Amber McPherson, DMD, and the care she brings to our patients and community.

Dr. McPherson shared, “I am excited to be joining Oasis Free Clinics because it allows me to provide essential oral health care to patients that need it the most. I value the opportunity to focus on prevention, education, and improving overall health while improving access to dental care to this community.”

It’s Dental Assistant Week, and we’re celebrating Kim Dodge, our per diem Dental Assistant!

Kim brings compassion and encouragement to every shift she works. She shares: “I work at Oasis because I love being part of a team whose goal it is to help those that are currently in need – helping people who are often in a transitional time and hopefully helping them to the next step. It is rewarding to see the progression of someone who just needed a helping hand to improve their situation.”

We’re so grateful for the care, empathy, and dedication Kim shows our patients. Thank you for being part of the Oasis team and for helping people move forward with confidence and better health.

Our Story

Oasis Free Clinics is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) tax-exempt corporation established in 1995. Since then, Oasis has become an integral part of the health care safety net in southern Midcoast Maine and the only clinic that exists solely to provide free medical, dental, and prescription assistance in the Greater-Brunswick area. For 25 years, we have provided free health care and dental services to people who cannot afford to pay for care and who have no insurance. A team of dedicated volunteer physicians, dentists, mental health professionals, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and members of the community join our small staff to care for our patients. Oasis succeeds because of our many volunteers who generously donate their time and talents.

At Oasis Free Clinics, our mission is to take care of our neighbors in need by providing medical and dental services as well as connections to community resources.

Our vision is to have a thriving community that cares for all its members in their times of need.
