We had the honor of hosting our Honoring Our Heroes Resource Fair at VFW 4709 in Conroe on November 3rd. This event was dedicated to our veterans and provided free access to valuable resources and information theyโ€™ve rightfully earned through their service.

A special thank you to Commander Karl for all his help in making this event possible โ€” and an extra shout-out to Cynthia and Sandra, our amazing Client Relations Manager and Community Relations Coordinator, who are also veterans themselves. Weโ€™re so proud to have them on our team and grateful for their service! ๐Ÿ’™

Attendees enjoyed free lunch, drinks, and desserts provided by our wonderful vendors, and we wrapped up the day by celebrating our 12 basket winners!

Weโ€™re so grateful to everyone who came out to honor and support our local heroes. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’‰ World Immunization Day is a reminder that prevention is one of the most powerful forms of care.

For seniors, staying up to date on recommended vaccines โ€” like flu, pneumonia, shingles, and COVID-19 boosters โ€” helps protect health and independence all year long. ๐ŸŒŸ

Not all care at home is the same.
When exploring care options for a loved one, itโ€™s important to understand the difference between non-medical home care, medical home health care, and hospice care. Each plays a unique role in supporting seniors and families through different stages of care. ๐Ÿ’œ

Hereโ€™s a quick breakdown ๐Ÿ‘‡

Meet the Team: Ray and Laurie Griggs

Ray Griggs was born in Albuquerque, NM, raised in Temple, TX, and graduated from Temple High School. He graduated from Texas A&M University with BS (class of โ€™81) and ME degrees in Agricultural Engineering. Ray has worked in the oil field with Halliburton, in natural resource protection with Texas A&M, alternative energy with BP and new startup businesses. Most recently he has worked in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection with energy and transportation companies. Ray enjoys gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Laurie is a native Texan. She was born and raised in northwest Houston and graduated from Spring Woods High School. After graduating from Texas A&M University (class of โ€™85) with a degree in Health Education, she worked 20+ years as a Patient Educator with Baylor Scott & White Clinic. Laurie loves to do yard work, abstract painting, calligraphy, and travel.

Ray and Laurie know firsthand how difficult it can be to juggle caring for a loved one, working full time and raising a family. After Rayโ€™s mother had a stroke, they were her primary caregivers with Rayโ€™s brother for over 6 years.

Ray and Laurie have a passion for serving others and want to make a difference locally. They are committed to the Senior Helpers mission of ensuring a better quality of life for the senior community and peace of mind for their families by providing dependable and affordable in-home care. One of our companyโ€™s goals is to raise awareness in and around the community about the home care options for seniors to age at home, strategically complimenting other existing parts of senior health care.
