Happy Thursday, fam! 🙌🏻

Give it up for my guy Lukas 👏🏼

When Lukas first started training with me back in May, he was brand new to working out. We started with corrective exercises, built a solid foundation, and have been progressively adding weight week after week.

Fast forward to this past weekend at the Charles County Fair—Lukas stepped up to the Army booth’s 270 lb hex bar deadlift challenge. Not only did he accept it, but he crushed it twice, saying “that was easy.” 💪🏼🔥

Couldn’t be more proud of the progress he’s made in such a short time. Proof that consistency and effort go a long way.

Moral of the story: be like Lukas.

The work you put in today sets the tone for your weekend. Don’t wait until Monday to chase your goals—show up, push hard, and prove to yourself what you’re capable of. 💪

Why add eccentrics + pauses to your squats & deadlifts? ⬇️

✨ Build strength where you’re weakest – pausing at end range forces control and eliminates momentum.
✨ Increase muscle growth – slow eccentrics = more time under tension = more hypertrophy.
✨ Improve technique – teaches proper positioning & stability in tough spots.
✨ Boost mobility & confidence – spending time in deep ranges builds comfort and resilience.
✨ Carryover to power – stronger in the hole = stronger out of the hole.

🔥 Try adding a 3–5 sec eccentric and/or a 2–3 sec pause next time you train squats or deads. Your future lifts will thank you.

Over the weekend, we got the TWF&PT fam together for a little appreciation hangout 💜💙 Running a business definitely takes a village—and I’d say we’ve got a pretty amazing one.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and for everything you do day in and day out. Not everyone could make it, and you were definitely missed.

Major shoutout to Shamrock 5K Run/Walk Fueled by CRC for an incredible 5K event yesterday! The turnout was amazing—over 300 participants came together to support When I Am Better, making a real impact for a great cause.

Another huge thank you to Apehangers Bar & Grill for putting together an awesome post-race buffet—nothing like good food after a great run!

And last, but certainly not least, THANK YOU to all our TWF&PT participants who showed up and showed out! Your support means the world, and we had an absolute blast.

Already looking forward to the next one!
