🎉 Congratulations & Welcome, Assistant Director Ben Hammond 🎉
The Kitchen Table Foundation is proud to welcome Assistant Director Ben Hammond to our leadership team.
Ben is a devoted husband of 22 years and a proud father of four boys three of whom are already pursuing their own paths in the fire service. He currently serves as a Truck Company Captain with the Little Rock Fire Department in Arkansas’s capital city, working a 48/96 schedule. Ben also represents his battalion through Local 34, actively participating in negotiations and departmental committees.
Ben is widely known for fostering a strong crew culture one that balances professionalism with humor, camaraderie, and the traditions that make the fire service a true brotherhood. His leadership, experience, and heart for service align perfectly with the mission and values of the Kitchen Table Foundation.
We are honored to have Ben step into this role and look forward to the positive impact he will make as we continue serving first responders, families, and our community.

His words and actions challenged us to lead with compassion, to stand up for what is right, and to bring people together rather than divide them. His legacy reminds us that real change begins with courage, love, and a commitment to serving our communities.
Today, we honor his life by continuing the work—lifting one another up, choosing understanding over hate, and building a future rooted in equality and hope for all.

We also want to thank the Conway Fire Department Pafford Medical Services , Conway Police Department and everyone else who showed up to support our mission it was incredible to see everyone come together in unity, honor, and brotherhood and sisterhood.

If you’re a certified Firefighter, Firefighter/EMT, or Firefighter/Paramedic looking for a change of scenery, the North Little Rock Fire Department might just be your next move.

Complete the written exam
Crush the physical abilities test
Ace the interview

From there, qualified candidates are ranked and placed on a certified list. If you’re one of the lucky ones chosen and we’re fortunate enough to have you, here’s what happens next:

Once all pre-employment requirements are met and you've been selected, you’ll complete a full week of in-depth training and orientation.

This training program is designed to get you up to speed on our policies, procedures, and department-specific practices. Then it's right back to doing what you love! Riding first-due with a solid crew. No long waits, just boots on the ground and back on the front lines.

It’s that easy. No long academies, no rookie school, no months of waiting. Just right back in the action where you belong.
