Well, after 32 years, I have been relieved of my duties at Mountain View Manor. I am sad; I will miss the residents and the staff but it has not been the same since 4/01/2025. I am not a fan of diversicare and clearly, they are not a fan of me.
I was the 5th person fired. They fired the ladies that watch the front desk and answer the phone and the van driver who was AWESOME! Shoutout to Kobe Stephenson.
To be honest, I did offer my resignation, in an angry response to being asked for an end of month report that i had no information for, on Monday and told why. There are only so many zoom meetings(one consistently during my lunch),emails and reports you can do in a day. Trying to juggle the bookkeeper /BOM position , trying to help with admissions , trying to help with the annual survey response, just trying to help. Both local administrators declined my resignation. But diversicare insistedq So here I am.
I will be forever grateful to Southeastern Health Facilities and M/K management for 32 years. My kids basically grew up in that facility, volunteered there, had their first jobs there and grew to love it.
It’s very hard to say goodbye. 💔

Hospice of North Carolina presented a “Quilt of Valor” to Ms. Fearllee Gage this morning during a special ceremony. Ms. Gage was joined by her daughter, son and grandson for the presentation, along with residents and staff. Ms. Gage served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. During her service, she received many honors, including but not limited to “Rosie the Riveter’s (We can do it)”.

It is an honor to have Ms. Gage call Mountain View Manor home, and enjoy our time with her!

🖤💙 Today, we had the honor and privilege to welcome Swain County Sheriffs Office, Bryson City Police Department and a few U.S. Marshalls and enjoy Coffee and Doughnuts with them. 💙🖤 Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2024

Words are never enough to express how truly thankful we are for this wonderful community of men & women. They come to our aid when needed, and sometimes just to check on us. We are blessed to call them family and friends. While several were unable to join us today, we appreciate them equally.

❤️🤍💙 Veterans Day 2024 💙🤍❤️

Mountain View Manor is called home by 28 resident Veterans, 4 staff Veterans and lots of people that call loved ones Veterans!

We spent the day honoring our Veterans that were in house with a special moment of silence, a cake walk to patriotic music, statement and small tokens of appreciation by Veterans Dennis Ramsey & Carolyn Wi******er, and pins by Hospice of North Carolina. Followed with refreshments and cake.

Everyday is Veterans Day for us but it is extra special to have this day set aside to truly honor not only our Veterans but all Veterans.

From the bottom of our hearts… THANK YOU!!

Today, we had the honor of traveling with Veterans Arnold Price & Terry Dillard to Swain Middle School and Swain West Elementary, to be a part of their Veterans Day programs.

Sharing these two gentleman with the students, staff and fellow Veterans, is a small token of appreciation and love that we have for them!

Arnold & Terry are two of the 28 Veterans that currently stay with us, making every day Veterans Day!
