While the Israelites were still slaves, God tells Abraham that he is going to make a nation and he will call them “His treasured possession.”

He chose a people that only knew slavery. For 400 years, all they knew was to do what they were told or be killed.

Then, God calls them out of Egypt and He gives them their new name: a royal priesthood and a treasured possession. While they were in bo***ge He chose them. Let than sink in. He saw something different.

He didn’t see the chains, the fear, the incapacities. While they were all those things he gave them a new name. A name that meant the opposite.

Flash forward to 1 Peter 2 and we see that this new name is also ours. All who call upon the name of the Lord and chose Him have this same name.

But, like the Israelites, we have to possess the promised land. We have to lay claim to that which the Lord said is ours: freedom.

You, daughter, have a new name. Although you are enslaved to your scale, your refrigerator, your thoughts, and your fears. He does not call you by those things. He calls you His treasured possession.

Will you say yes to the invitation He’s giving you? He’s calling you out, like he calls the Israelites out of Egypt in order that you would be His.

Being honest with yourself is sometimes the most difficult part of our health journey. It seems easier to hide, shut down, and ignore. Distractions and entertainment become priority because it means we don’t have to face the pain.

In reality, the avoidance of pain creates more pain. Seeking knowledge, entertainment, distraction, and immediate gratification keeps us from facing our pain.

We all have an invitation to face our pain WITH pure love by our side. Pure love died and revealed itself so that we can live in freedom and peace. But we have to be honest with ourselves to accept the invitation and walk through it.

It’s not easy, but on the other side is true LIFE & it’s worth every bit of pain to experience it.

I know you’re ready to be honest, to stop the distraction, to face the pain, to experience LOVE ❤️, or you wouldn’t be reading this.

We often put so much pressure on ourselves to figure it out, to understand, to find solutions. We wear ourselves out and have sleepless nights doing this. We might binge eat and mindlessly consume social media to try to feel better. But the truth is, the only thing that feels better is to surrender. Trust that God is bigger than any decision you face and He is a good leader. His is a better leader than you are a follower. Ask Him what season you’re in and then hang out there, with Him. Let His love comfort you and see how he takes care of you in the process. His ways truly are better than ours.

How you eat is how you do life. It’s true, how you do one thing is how you do everything. Have you ever thought about how you’re eating and what it says about you? It can be very revealing. For me, the inconsistencies, the binges, the starvation, the obsessive weigh ins, the constant gain weight then lose weight cycle, the inability to think about anything other than food—-all these told a story. The story of my heart and all the things I was afraid to face, running from, or wished were different. Healing has come in waves and layers and some days are better than others. You might be wondering what Omega-3 has to do with food freedom and devloping a healthier relationship with food. Keep reading.

The journey towards better health, weight loss, and feeling comfortable in our skin is not a smooth road. I always tell my clients to give themselves grace. Don't beat yourself up when you slip and don't say, "screw this, I already slipped up this morning so it doesn't matter now." Instead, take some time to figure out what was going on emotionally, or circumstantually, that led to the choice you made. Learn from it, rather than allow shame and guilt to take over.

Sometimes shame and guilt become so overwhelming that it can be helpful to have a coach, or someome you trust, to walk alongside you. Asking for help, is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Have you ever felt like you were supposed to be in a different place by now?

Like maybe you should already have your health figured out… your relationship with food under control… or your life a little more “put together”?

I’ve been learning (the hard way) that trying to skip the season I’m in only leads to more frustration—and less peace. But when I surrender and settle into what God is actually doing right now? That’s when things start to align again.
